Practical Weaponry [Wednesday, Period Four]

The class was back in the Danger Shop this week, which was set up to resemble a high-class dinner party. Resplendent in a perfectly tailored dinner jacket, Bond was there to greet them.

"There are some situations that a person cannot go into with a weapon," he said, gesturing around the spacious ballroom. "For example, many diplomatic situations, or high-class casinos, or the like, have weapons detectors, and highly trained security staff. However, that does not necessarily mean that you will go in unarmed.

"Apart from any training you may have in unarmed training, you have your wits, and your clothes. In a situation such as this, your choice of clothing can be If you look like you belong, you will be unlikely to attract much notice. If you're working in a team, having your partner wearing a stunning couture dress can distract your enemies at a vital moment." Or leave you distracted at a vital moment, it could backfire sometimes. Not that Bond was going to mention that. "In a pinch, a stiletto heel can be quite a potent weapon indeed."

Bond gestured to an unassuming door. "There is a wardrobe with suitable clothing and footwear through there, and changing stalls," he said. "You will outfit yourselves in a manner befitting this party, and spent the rest of the class mingling and getting information on various party guests, as well as looking out for any fixtures in the room that could be used as weapons. If you have trouble choosing an outfit, I will be happy to help."

Once the students had entered the wardrobe to choose their outfits, they would have noticed that it was filled with stunning couture dresses in every style, fabric, and colour imaginable. After a few more minutes they would have noticed that there wasn't a single suit in sight.

After all, it was unfair to only expect the girls to wear spike heels.

Since he wasn't expecting a dress to be thrown at him, it landed and then covered his head. He hurriedly ripped it off like it was on fire.

"Are you that insane?" he asked, just barely refraining from throwing a tantrum. "Dresses are for girls. Girls. Not me. This isn't fair."

"Hey, I'd wear a tux if they made us," Rose pointed out.

On the other hand, she thought she'd look good in a tux.

"Not the same," he grumbled, glaring at the wall. If only he could glare through it. "Girls can wear guys clothing but guys really can't wear girls clothing. Duh."

"And so instead you're going to flash the whole class?" Rose checked.

"It'd be better than dressing in drag," he rationalized.

"That what you're going to tell Angela?" she asked sweetly.

Mean, Rose! There was more glaring at her through the changing room wall.

"She's currently animal shaped, she might not hear about it," he said, still glaring.

It was like the wall was starting to smoke with the force of his glare.

"I know that's what I'd want to count on," she said.

"She's let me go in public in boxers before," he reasoned even if she'd told him later that the naked was for her. Hmm.

"She might appreciate laughing at you in a dress though," Rose pointed out. "You'd really be doing it for her too."

She kinda just wanted to see all the guys in dresses.

"That's not a way to convince me to put on a dress," he said grumpily. "And she's not here, how the hell would she see?"

"Pictures," Rose replied promptly.

Oh look, this time he smacked the changing room wall. "Don't even think about it. I'd rather eat glass."

Rose jumped back as the racks of dresses swayed slightly.

"First - I don't want to be buried under a mountain of clothes, thanks," she said dryly. "And second, I don't even have a camera. Don't worry."

"Do you have a cell phone?" he asked. He wasn't tech deficient. "And you did throw a dress at me."

"I was trying to help," she said sweetly. Really, she was terribly nice. "Thought maybe you'd like something not too revealing."

Hannibal just made a noise of frustration and yanked on one of the dresses. "Jesus, all this material is thin and weak. I'll rip it."

"Did you get something that fits?" she asked. "It's not that bad."

"How am I supposed to know what fits?" he grumbled. "It's. A. Dress."

"Do you need help?" Rose asked. "I'll keep my eyes closed oh em gee."

Hannibal was glaring through the wall again. "Did you seriously just offer to help me pick a dress?"

"...you were worried about the fit," Rose said innocently.

"You're lucky I don't throw something at you," he grumbled. "I'm worried about the fit because it's a dress, not because I want it to look good."

"Throw something at me, and I will kill you with my shoe," Rose said blandly.

"And then you'd be charged with murder and jail wouldn't suit you," he replied.
