Library (And Support Services): Friday, 7/31

Francine had trekked out to the park early to put up signs at the usual meeting place that matched the ones on the library doors:

Support Services Is Meeting In The Library Today and Tomorrow!

If you heard Mayor Summers' announcement, you know there's something going on. If you didn't hear Mayor Summers' announcement, there's something going on. Please come in and help research anything you can find about vampires, alternate universes, narcolepsy, sleep visions, or anything else that seems like it might help!

Everyone welcome.

Free cookies!

There were always free cookies.

There was also a worried Francine with a brand new hairstyle (for those who haven't been dreaming of other places, anyway) hovering back and forth between the books and the food.

[OOC: Open to all! And muchas gracias to [livejournal.com profile] cautiousfellow for letting us commandeer his library.]

Annja approached Francine and smiled slightly. "I'm here to help, put me to work?" She had poured through everything in Coyote Medicine and had found nothing helpful.

Town Hall would be appreciated. Who does the dragging isn't important, so long as it isn't literal dragging. That would be painful.

Elle didn't know what the hell was going on, but she knew it was something Not Right, and thusly she wanted to know what the hell it really was.

Which was why she was parked in the library, pouring over a book.

Karla showed up, pecking at some cookies. She wasn't hungry, not at all, but she needed to eat. If nothing else, her dreams showed her exactly what would happen if she didn't. Gaunt just wasn't her color.

After grabbing something with caffeine in it, Ellie settled at a table with a few books. She hadn't been experiencing any of the symptoms, but she wanted to help those that were. She could definitely research.

For all they'd been preparing for something to go wrong, Morgana didn't look as calm as she wanted to be while she scanned books for anything useful.

"I came as quickly as I could," Morgana said in greeting as she beelined over to Francine. "I heard the announcement and--what happened to your hair?" Because that was definitely the most important question at the moment.

She thought for a moment. "Alternate dimensions. I read all about psychic dreams yesterday at work." She sighed. "You would think a store that specializes in Native American stuff would have answers of some kind, but we don't."

It was entirely stupid coincidence and her player thinking she's funny that Gabrielle still had the fading bite marks on her neck by this point in the week. Under any other circumstances she'd have gone into squeaky, flaily spasms of glee over the library (even if it wasn't a surprise any more), but if people were in trouble she knew how to buckle down.

With cookies, of course.

*would vouch for the painfulness of literal dragging but has not lived through season 3 yet, ahem*

Gabrielle grabbed a stack of several as-yet unclaimed books, careful to set her cookies and coffee well away from them, and settled down to read. Reading as problem-solving? Really? Wow, that was new. Xena just usually went right in and did that cut-off-the-flow-of-blood-to-your-brain interrogation thing to get answers out of people.

. . . she ended up having to stifle a giggle at the mental image of Xena trying to do that to a book.

And then frowned as what she was reading began to sink in. "I thought I just got away from this!"

[OOC: And again, the Bacchae thing is totally unrelated, but if any of you want to play around with research red herrings, feel free to ask her WTF she's going on about.]

Karla had called in all of the books she'd brought with her from home and also had those stacked on the table in the library for people to go through. She didn't think it would hurt to have as many different books on Craft out as possible. Maybe this was some kind of Black Widow thing?

It would be easier to tell if she could just focus on the books. But her vision kept going blurry. Those enforced naps were the only sleep she was getting these past few days.

I didn't sign Claire up for research, but she would come to support services... is that okay?

... yes, I'm too lazy to switch accounts.

If someone could specifically tell Tara these are bumpy-forehead vampires, it would really help me set something up?

Took care of this. Ta anyhow.

Tara's book was of the Ye Thamaturgicale Beastiary ... variety. There wasn't much in it about vampires that she didn't know, but the illustrated anecdotes would give her nightmares even if the island hadn't. There was this one about children...

She shivered and turned the page.
