After getting SHOT AT WHAT THE HELL in fashion class, Claudia was ready for a nice long nap in the library today.

Or at least a day staring aimlessly at the pretty people in OK magazine.

The library was open!

Finding he was running low on things to read, Griff dropped in to browse the library's holdings. And verify the radio reports.

"I'd heard you worked here, but I told myself I wouldn't believe it till I saw it," Griff said, completely in awe of anyone would hire Claudia to work in a library. "Looks like I should trust the radio more."

"The radio always has the best gossip," Claudia said, grinning. "Hi!"

"I tend to cringe as soon as I hear my name and wish I hadn't started listening most of the time," he admitted, leaning on the counter. "Unless they don't say my name." It was the key part right there.

"What else would they call you?" Claudia asked.

"No, I mean, it's more interesting when it's about other people." Because that could be entertainment.

"Oh, that's the best part," Claudia squealed. "Omigod, there are some seriously screwed up people around here."

"Yes, we live among the very weird," Griff said, including her in that statement as he believed her gift had something to do with nearly blinding people with clothing choices. "And often the dramatic."

"And that's not counting the weeks we want to have sex with everyone that walks by," Claudia said, nodding wisely.

He looked at her, worried. "How often does that happen?"

"So far, only the once," Claudia said, "but we haven't really even gotten into the hot part of the summer."

"When it will all be coupled by the many attractive gels hanging about in swimwear?" Gulp. Someone was going to need to invest in blinders should that happen.

"Awww, you call us gels! That's so cute!" Claudia squealed.

She was the third to remark on that in as many weeks. He wondered if he should work harder to stretch out his 'ir.' "Um, yeah, leftover of the accent. I can say it the other way though, since cute is very teddy bear-like."

Rose was still dressed up from Etiquette when she decided to finally give in and do research.

But she really hadn't expected Claudia of all people to be working here. "Hey Claudia," she said, giving her a quick smile as she glanced around the library.

"Oh, Lord did you really break a cabin?" Claudia gasped.

Hellos were for other people.

And Rose blushed.

"That wasn't supposed to happen."

She was never going to hear the end of this.

"Oh, Lord, it was true?"

Library voice, Claud. LIBRARY VOICE.

"Probably, yeah," she admitted, still studying the floor pretty intently. "There was some getting carried away and stuff."

"I have never gotten that carried away," Claudia gaped. "So, he's, like, really good at it, then?"

Rose couldn't help grinning a little. "Yeah, he's good," she shrugged. "Probably helped that we're both stronger than usual. So - not a regular occurence. Thing."

"Wooooooow," Claudia said. "I'm soooo not telling Toby this. He'd, like, require me to hate you."

"See, that would totally suck," Rose said. "Then there'd be catfights and stuff, and we'd just end up with detention."

"I had detention a few weeks ago and it was completely heinous," Claudia whined. "I had to clean horse poo!"

"Oh God," Rose made a face. "Getting up early on a Saturday is bad enough. There better not be any poop involved."

"And I had to listen to this girl whine about she didn't deserve to be there at all and you know, whatever. There are more important things to complain about. Like the totally gross horse poo!"
