Arts & Crafts [Period 1, 5-18]
Steve was ready and waiting for the students when they arrived for the workshop. "Okay, so, this is Arts & Crafts, it's summer camp, it's traditional, so today we're going to do one of those crafts that's traditional at summer camps even in places other than Fandom, since gremlins in jars are pretty much Fandom-specific. I hope none of you have had any unfortunate encounters with the actual gremlins since last week, and likewise claim no responsibility for last week's rain of glitter. That being said, let's move right along to dreamcatchers. The idea behind dreamcatchers is that if you hang them over your bed, the webbing will catch nightmares but let good dreams through. I'm not sure if they work, but it's a nice idea, and I'm sure some of us could do with a few less nightmares." God knew he could. "So, the instructions are on your tables, along with the materials. We have several different colors of lacing, beads, and feathers. Have fun with it."

Re: Craft/Chatter
"I'm sure you will," she said confidently. "Though, I have to ask, does this mean being here is training or something?"
Re: Craft/Chatter
Re: Craft/Chatter
...go to high school?
"Learn from a greater variety of educational styles or something?"
Re: Craft/Chatter
Time to free the other.
"I like this place so far. And people seem to think it's kinda weird that I'm wearing armor around all of the time. Should I maybe just get a pair of jeans and lose the pauldrons, or something?"
They were very practical, if he was trying not to get his arms hacked off. But perhaps not so much in arts and crafts class.
Re: Craft/Chatter
"You're such a dork, honestly! And I wouldn't call it weird," she said, because Ino actually wouldn't, "though I guess if you're not used to military types it might be? But, yeah, you'd probably be better off in jeans and a shirt while just keeping the armour 'round in your room 'cause sometimes you probably will need it."
Re: Craft/Chatter
Which he could totally do, sure.
Re: Craft/Chatter
And the school didn't know about them. Details. Besides, they were playing cards. No way could the school take every thing ever that was card-shaped away from her for long.
"But I guess that's good training too? Expect the unexpected."
Re: Craft/Chatter
Of course right!
"It kinda makes you wonder what they do with the kids who are trained well enough in physical combat that their hands are a weapon," Zack mused, half-joking. "They can't really confiscate those at the door, can they?"
Re: Craft/Chatter
Ino's view was a bit warped considering pointy objects of pain were encouraged in the Academy, and that was for kids as young as five. So.
Re: Craft/Chatter
And there was probably far more than that, but Zack really didn't train in too many different forms of combat, so he was going to just list what he was familiar with, here.
Re: Craft/Chatter
Re: Craft/Chatter
It was very handy!
And it was already plugged into Zack's sword.
Re: Craft/Chatter
Re: Craft/Chatter
Compared with Reno's Thundaga, Zack had a long way to go, yes.
Re: Craft/Chatter
They were, like, baby potions on the scale of potions, but Ino didn't care.
"I'd love to see how Materia works though." Yes, yes she would.
Re: Craft/Chatter
"Well, there are different sorts of healing items, like potions, and there are different levels of potions, like X-potions and Hi-potions. And then there are elixirs, which don't just heal injuries, they'll cure poison and restore used up magic and everything. If you get one of those, you hold on to it until you absolutely need it. They're priceless, you know? And there are healing spells that different Materia can cast, like Cure, Cura, and Curaga. And then there are other spells that let you injure an enemy and steal a little bit of their health, like Drain and Drainga..."
Zack could go on forever about stuff like this. It was possibly for the best if he didn't.
Re: Craft/Chatter
Re: Craft/Chatter
There he went, striking a pose again. Silly boy.
Re: Craft/Chatter
In the violent sense, but hey.
Re: Craft/Chatter
Re: Craft/Chatter
Re: Craft/Chatter
"That would make sense. There's not much out in the wastelands outside of Midgar, but there are plenty of people inside the city. They're probably looking for an easy meal when they head into Midgar. And most people in the city aren't fighters at all."
[Sleeep time for me. SP?]
Re: Craft/Chatter
A beat.
"Have you ever fought a demon house?"
It was one of the first things Reno had every told her, about demon houses. It was... rather impressive that she still remembered that.
[Always! Sleep weeeell!]
Re: Craft/Chatter
He wanted to. But he hadn't had the chance. Alas.
Re: Craft/Chatter
Mail-order demon houses?
