Sam had managed to wake up before his alarm for once, and when he couldn't go back to sleep, he got up and just started his day early. He got to the library with plenty of time to spare, even with the coffee and muffin he'd stopped to get on the way.

"Really?" Sam asked. "It was good oregano. She gave me two of them and I had them for breakfast sort of, and they were great."

"That was some pretty top-quality oregano," he agreed. Chuck smiled and shook his head. "I can't believe you ate both of them in one go. You pig."

"What? They were good and I hadn't eaten much yet," Sam said. "I can have brownies for breakfast if I want to. You're not in charge of me."

"I'm in charge of everybody, Sam," Chuck told him. "You're just in denial."

"Nuh uh," Sam said, shaking his head again. "Dean's in charge of me, and Peter's in charge of me, but you're not, because..." He trailed off when he didn't really have a reason to give. "You're just not."

"Nope, you're wrong. I'm the boss of everybody," Chuck said, quite enjoying the fact that he was having an elementary school argument with Sam. "Before I came here you guys were all lost without me. Mass chaos."

"We were fine!" Sam said, laughing. "If you're in charge, how come you haven't given me orders?"

"Because I'm a kind and generous ruler," Chuck replied. "And a pretty good looking ruler too, I might add."

"Well, yeah," Sam agreed. He was going to want to strangle himself later, really. "Being rich has its perks."

"I'll have you know that most of it is due to good Bass genes," he said. "Though I don't have to tell you about good genes. The Winchester ones aren't bad either."

"Is that why you had sex with Dean? 'Cause you think he has good genes?" Sam asked.

"I had sex with Dean because he's hot and good at it," Chuck said, laughing.

Sam laughed. "You think Dean is hot. You liiike him."

"Noooooo I doooon't," Chuck said back at him. "Wow, you must be out of it if you think that."

"I think deep down you don't hate him, or you wouldn't have had sex with him. Just like deep down he doesn't hate you because you're hot too." It made sense at the moment, at least.

Chuck smirked. "You said you don't need a reason to be happy. Why can't I have sex for the sake of having sex? That's awfully hypocritical of you."

Yeah, he'd like to see stoned!Sam answer that.

'Cause...liking people makes sex better, I guess?" It wasn't like he had sexual encounters with people he didn't like to prove that.

"I don't know; I've found myself having a good time either way," he mused. "Then again, any sex with me there is bound to be amazing. I'm just that good."

"For all he's complained about having sex with you, Dean's never said the sex was bad," Sam said helpfully.

"Yeah, I kind of got that he enjoyed it when he kept me there all night," Chuck said, snickering.

Sam laughed. "Did you cuddle with him in the morning?"

"Oh you're the only Winchester I cuddle with, Sam," Chuck teased.

"That's not good, 'cause I'm never going to sleep with you again, which means you'll never get the cuddling you need," Sam said.

"I think I'll survive," Chuck said, laughing. "I don't need cuddling."

"Everyone needs some cuddling, even rulers of Bassland," Sam said matter-of-factly.
