Library [04/22]

Sam had managed to wake up before his alarm for once, and when he couldn't go back to sleep, he got up and just started his day early. He got to the library with plenty of time to spare, even with the coffee and muffin he'd stopped to get on the way.

Sam checked to see if anyone had any overdue books out, and then went on to discreetly check his e-mail.

When it became apparent that the muffin he'd had for breakfast wasn't going to get him through until lunch, Sam went into his bookbag and grabbed the brownies that Francine had given him. He'd brought them to share with Dean at lunch, but he decided that Dean would mind if he just ate both of them now.

Since Sam had never eaten special oregano brownies before, it didn't take too long before he was spinning in his chair, watching the ceiling rotate, and deciding that Francine was the coolest person ever.

Sam had nothing left to offer Dean for lunch today except for some very giggly entertainment.

Normally, Sam tried to keep himself occupied with reading until Peter arrived, but today, Sam was staring at the door and waiting for Peter to arrive, because Peter always came and he always brought donuts and Sam was starving like he hadn't eaten lunch. If only he'd had a third brownie, that would surely have made everything better.

The library was ~~most likely~~ quiet and empty, if anyone really needed to stop by.

*is mean, oops!*

Oh yeah, like Chuck wasn't going to check up on Sam today to see if he had actually eaten those brownies.

One look at Sam spinning around in the chair when he walked in was enough to tell that, yes, he had eaten them.

Chuck really wished he had a mustache he could twirl evilly during times like these.

It took a little longer than usual for Sam to realize that someone else was there, and all previous dislike of Chuck was gone as he smiled at him. "Hey! What are you doing here? Ooh, do you need a book?"

"I am just here for the pleasure of your company, Sam," Chuck said, trying to stifle a laugh. He walked closer until he was leaning against the desk, grinning like an idiot because, come on, this was was funny. "So, go on, pleasure me."

Peter did come in and he did bring coffee and donuts. He smiled when he saw Sam. "Hey."

"I can't do that! I'll get into trouble!" Sam said, leaning closer and whispering to Chuck, which really just meant he was speaking quietly enough that no one outside could probably hear them. "We're in the library."

"Hi!" Sam said brightly. It was tough to decide what to grab first, but in the end, Sam reached for Peter before the donuts. "I'm so glad you're here!'

Dean came in at the usual time with burgers. "Hey," he said to Sammy then frowned. "What's up with you?"

"Dean, hi!" Sam said happily, ignoring Dean's question for something far more important. "Are those burgers?"

Peter let himself get pulled into a hug. "Hey! I'm glad I'm here too."

"Yeah," Dean said, still staring at Sammy.

"Oh, is that the only reason why we can't?" Chuck said, snickering. "Mind out of the gutter, Winchester. I can enjoy your company in other, library-appropriate ways. What's got you so happy today?"

With Peter close like that, Sam couldn't resist the urge to nuzzle Peter's neck. "Mmmm, really really glad."

Sam grinned and immediately reached for one. "Good, 'cause I'm really hungry."

Well not like Peter was going to turn down a little nuzzling, assuming said nuzzling came from his boyfriend. He tilted his head to give Sam more to work with. "Suddenly, so am I."

"I don't know. Can't I just be happy?" Sam asked, taking another twirl in the chair.

"You can. It's just that I've never seen you so flamboyantly happy before," Chuck said. "Did you get laid last night?"

"You're here and you're nice and--donuts! You brought donuts," Sam said, all thoughts of nuzzling temporarily forgotten as he went for the food.

"As always," Peter said. He handed the donuts over. Trying to figure out why Sam was more into food than nuzzling, he guessed, "You skip lunch?"
