Child Development- 1st Period- Class #15
The class was back in the Danger Shop in the playroom again, because it didn't make sense to go back to a classroom for the final. However, there were desks set up for the students to sit in, since this was going to be an actual test.
Lily looked a little sad, too. "I always hate the end of the semester," she said, even if she didn't hate it so much because the end of the semester usually meant summer vacation and that meant sleeping in. "You've been an awesome class, and I hope you've learned something. If not, well... good luck on the final. Afterwards, when you're all done, you can either head out or you can stick around to talk to your friends as long as you don't disturb anyone else."

Oh yeah. The porn. That's right.
Take the test
1. What's the difference between fine and gross motor skills?
2. What kinds of things are babies doing by the time they've reached six months old?
E.C.: On a scale of one to ten, how much would you want to rip your hair out dealing with them?
3. Why do you think they call them the 'terrible twos'?
E.C.: On a scale of one to ten, how much would you want to rip your hair out dealing with kids in said terrible two's?
4. What are some skills kids learn from playing?
5. Why should you not take a five-year-old's assessment that you are boring/wearing bad clothes/have something on your face to heart?
E.C.: On a scale of one to ten, how much would you want to rip your hair out dealing with school-age children?
Re: Take the test
2. Sitting up, grabbing for things, sometimes crawling.
E.C. 7, maybe? They're boring but not that bad.
3. Uh, because they are all over the place and know what they want and can't talk enough to just say what it is?
EC: 8. They're like munchkins who don't speak English and took a lot of not-fun drugs.
4. Sharing, mimicking things they'll do as adults like cooking and childcare, coordination.
5. Because they're lame and have no taste.
EC: Depends on the kid -- my fake kids were both kind of cool.
Re: Take the test
The difference between fine and gross motor skills is, for example, the difference between being able to balance on one leg in between taking one step and the next (gross) and dropping an opponent with a hook kick directly to the temple (fine). Or being able to reach out and push a button (gross) and touch-typing (fine).
. . . the rest of Jen's exam continued in much the same vein. It was probably a miracle that Blake and Kit were as normal as they were in a pair of bizarre future (past? Ow.) worlds.

And handwavily.Re: Take the test
2. Babies can be eating real food (but not good stuff, like Funyuns), holding there heds up, no-ing there names, and sleeping thru the nite if you are lucky.
EC: About a three. Mostly they just lay there. You can do your nales and stuff when you babbysit!
3. Because they are TOTAL BRATS.
EC: TEN
4. How to share, how to use there imaginashuns, and how to turn a Barbie into a weapon.
5. Because they are too little to read Vogue.
EC: Two. They are totally the most fun! They are like real people, but short.
Re: Take the test
2. Spitting strained carrots for distance.
E.C.: One. I kind of think babies are adorable. Plus at that age they're trying to rip it out for me, anyway.
3. I honestly don't know. I kind of think two year olds are adorable.
E.C.: One. I kind of think two year olds are adorable.
4. Sharing, making friends, practicing for when they grow up and get married and have kids and a house of their own.
5. ...I shouldn't?
E.C.: One. I kind of think school-age children are adorable.
Re: Take the test
1. What's the difference between fine and gross motor skills?
"Fine" motor skills describe the things kids do that their parents approve of (walking, clapping, waving). "Gross" motor skills describe the things kids do that their parents don't approve of (touching dirty things, putting everything they can grab into their mouths).
2. What kinds of things are babies doing by the time they've reached six months old?
Crawling, making noises that would sound disgusting coming from an adult but somehow make grown women melt, and regularly refusing to sleep through the night.
E.C.: On a scale of one to ten, how much would you want to rip your hair out dealing with them? Eight.
3. Why do you think they call them the 'terrible twos'?
Because that's the point when lots of parents realize they might have made a mistake in having children, and that's a terrible realization to have when coupled with the fact that there's nothing you can do about it.
E.C.: On a scale of one to ten, how much would you want to rip your hair out dealing with kids in said terrible two's? Seven or eight, unless my kids turn out better than that.
4. What are some skills kids learn from playing?
How to share and take turns, and how to fight, cheat, and steal.
5. Why should you not take a five-year-old's assessment that you are boring/wearing bad clothes/have something on your face to heart?
Because you're talking to someone who probably can't even tie their shoes - odds are, you're more knowledgeable than they are.
E.C.: On a scale of one to ten, how much would you want to rip your hair out dealing with school-age children? Four. Maybe.
Re: Take the test
Fine is good! Gross is icky!
2. What kinds of things are babies doing by the time they've reached six months old? They are eating pies and singing!
E.C.: On a scale of one to ten, how much would you want to rip your hair out dealing with them? Ripping hair out would not be pleasant, lovely teacher lady!
3. Why do you think they call them the 'terrible twos'? When one is bad, that usually means the second one is as well. I'm certain of it.
E.C.: On a scale of one to ten, how much would you want to rip your hair out dealing with kids in said terrible two's? Ripping hair out would not be pleasant, lovely teacher lady! But I would guess that my scale would be somewhere around one. For I would hand over the child to its mother!
4. What are some skills kids learn from playing? How to share! How to sing together! How to defent their castle against evil step-mothers!
5. Why should you not take a five-year-old's assessment that you are boring/wearing bad clothes/have something on your face to heart? I am not certain what assessment means but that five year old must not realize that I am a prince!
E.C.: On a scale of one to ten, how much would you want to rip your hair out dealing with school-age children? I'm beginning to think that ripping out hair is a common practice when dealing with children.
Re: Take the test
1. Fine skills are when the little brat's managed to throw up on your pristine can collection on purpose. Gross is when he does it by accident.
2. By then they can crawl, but are still small enough to be shoved in access vents. Even if they're weighted down with dough.
EC - 01 to 10 isn't much of any kind of range, I'd go with 1001010, when they've swallowed something valuable and mine.
3. I don't know - maybe a moment of clear thought about how obnoxious you fleshies are. 'Cause you sure don't get any better, that's for sure.
EC - Hey, by this time haven't they got their own hair? No point in keeping a human and barking yourself.
4. Bluffing, card counting and the right time to kick the other players on knee and run off with the cash.
5. Because they suck. And still put their shoes on the wrong feet.
EC - Anything you get from them you deserve. Ditch the kids when they learn how to hold out on you and trade them in for a newer model.
Re: Take the test
whose mun is a stupid brain todayanswered most of the answers correctly, although shortly, and for all the extra credit questions he answered One, because, trust me, my kid probably already ripped mine out himself at any stage at all.Re: Take the test
handwaveyvery thorough answers to all of the questions. Almost like she'd memorized her notes and regurgitated the answers. Oh, wait. That was basically what she'd done. After the final
