So You Want to Make a TV Show- 2nd Period- Class #8

Dana was nice today. She set out coffee for the students, figuring those who had to wake up for a second period class on the Monday after spring break might need a little jump-start, so this way they didn't fall asleep and she didn't have to drop a book on the desk near their head or something. That would be just embarrassing for all involved.

"Welcome back, everyone. It sounds like you all had a very interesting week, and hopefully everyone at the very least has sobered up by now," she began, "especially since I'm going easy on you. Let's face it, most of you are only going to be half-paying attention to me today anyway. So I'm breaking from the syllabus and instead giving you all a project due next week. Today we're going to be looking at some of the camera equipment that gets used.

"I have one here that you can check out and try out," she said, patting a camera affixed to a tripod. "You break it, you buy it, and you may have to get down and give me 20. Also, we have smaller, hand-held cameras that you're going to take with you for the week. Find and record some interesting footage for next week's class. When we work on editing, that's what we're going to use to splice things together. Get some action footage, interview someone, just bring me something. It doesn't need to be sports-related, either, so though if you bring me something that we can put in our broadcast, that's a bonus. The only rules are: don't use these in class without explicit permission as I don't want the other teachers to hate me, and do not- do not- use these for anything I'd have to take to the principal. There's a reason you got these after spring break."

After being massive idiot yesterday, Hannibal was covering most of that up by doodling in his notebook and doing absolutely anything he could to not give his bad mood away.

It wasn't much working but he wasn't going to stop.

Adora had taken some coffee and sat with her hands gripping the cup in an attempt to keep them warm. She was not fond of snow when it wasn't Frosta-created.

And if her eyes were rather fixed in a certain direction, well, call her confused.

Yuck, coffee, but oooh! Cameras, and Turtle was also wondering if she was the only person in existence excited to be back from the grind. Sure, the cruise was lovely and awesome, but there was work to do! Exciting work! Money-making work! And she had probably about a gazillion more awesome vacations like that waiting for her in the future.

Turtle was definitely checking out the big camera for a little bit and, but the question that came to mind as she did so was simply, "Do you still have the manufacturer's instruction booklet for this thing?"

And then she reconsidered the camera for a moment.

"Or instruction novel?"

Yeah Robin was just too small to even attempt this. He stood staring up at it, kinda hating being tiny at that moment.

They're little hand-held video cameras, nothing fancy. Pick them up, see if you can get away with taping someone in class (it's allowed in this one), or just talk.

Hannibal snagged a camera and took a few seconds of getting familiar with the buttons before he turned it on and tried to focus on someone in the class.

Adora inspected the camera and started pushing buttons to figure out how operate the device properly.

"Oh! Everything is so close!" She exclaimed, nearly dropping her camera as she found the zoom.

Fiddling with her camera a little and testing out the settings idly, Turtle considered the fact that she'd really have to keep this thing hidden from Jeff. Or at least entirely inaccessible.

And then she realized that, if she found herself wanting for interesting material for class, she'd just have to train the camera onto Jeff.

Dinah picked up hers, and tried to consider what she'd like to film. Maybe the cheerleaders? If they were up for it. Then again, maybe the play. That might be fun.

Jack took a moment to turn his on, and started panning around the class to see what he could see.

He would not be happy to know that the first minute or so is a zoom of his nose hairs as he tried to figure out if he'd turned it on.

I thought it was just a bug, but now I'm thinking it's a virtual hangover.
