Library [10.21]

Knowing that this coming weekend was the 'Parent Weekend' nonsense had put Anemone in a strange mood, alternating between melencholy and spiteful. She had grabbed a poetry book from the shelves as a distraction, in a legitimate attempt to broaden her literary horizons. They were probably going to study it sometime in class, and she didn't want to feel like an idiot for not knowing any poems.

And voices are / In the wind’s singing / More distant and more solemn / Than a fading star.

Anemone tossed the book across the room with a snarl and stomped off in search of a decent comic book. Poetry was stupid.

The Fandom High Library was open, but beware of flung books.

Ichigo showed up before third period and started browsing for books on trebuchets or onagers as he waited for Romeo.

Romeo walked in, gave a wary eye to the pink-haired girl behind the counter, and went to find Ichigo.

"Good morning," he greeted. "Find anything of interest?"

"Yeah, but it might have been in another section," Ichigo smirked as he added the book he'd been browsing through to his stack.

Romeo stood on tiptoes to snag a book with a pretty cover. "Then I revise myself: Anything that will help us in our project?" Though he could see Ichigo had a few books, really.

"These should do," he held them up. "And there was one that looked awesome, but I don't know French."
withoutverona: (B+ W grin)

"I do," Romeo said casually. "I spent some time in France. Though I might not be much for the actual science parts."

"That's good to know... It looked like some kind of inventory on anything medieval," Ichigo backtracked down the shelves to find the book. "They have sketches of clothes and weapons in it and even city walls."

Romeo took the book from Ichigo's hands. "I can read most of this," he announced. "It's just pictures and descriptions, mostly, but it would give us some idea what it should look like once it's done."

He snagged one last book and headed for a table.

Robin was sitting in the farthest corner of the library, hidden away among the stacks. He was looking at a stack (http://picasaweb.google.com/celticsonbloodnsoul/RobinArt#5259716031867640706) of (http://picasaweb.google.com/celticsonbloodnsoul/RobinArt#5259716032372319490) photos (http://picasaweb.google.com/celticsonbloodnsoul/RobinArt#5259716035758229426) that had just arrived in the mail, along with a cassette tape.

He was curled up on the table with the pictures in front of him. He was just short of rocking back and forth.

Robin started out of his reverie. "Uhm, uh, yes?"

Robin struggled with his desire to continue pretending, but he just couldn't do it anymore. "Not really, no."

"I needed a quiet place I guess." he said. He looked back down at the pictures, and sniffed.

At the sound of a book being thrown, Indiana came out of the office with a concerned look on his face.

"Is there a problem Anemone?"

[identity profile] cautiousfellow.livejournal.com 2008-10-21 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm sure it was," Indiana said with a sigh as he picked up the book. "But you know as well as I do that the library doesn't really like that. Right?"

Yes. He had accepted that the library had feelings. Somehow.

He gestured to the library at large and gave Anemone a prompting look in the hopes she would offer it an apology.

He did his best not to sound exasperated. After all Anemone was more familiar with the library than he was at the moment.

"Still, I'd prefer that we didn't mistreat the books," Indiana said looking at the volume and then carefully putting it in the return. "It's okay to have a difference on opinion but let's not start tossing books around."

Indiana gave her a wry grin. "Not looking forward to parents weekend?"

Yeah. He could understand that.
