Library [10.21]

Knowing that this coming weekend was the 'Parent Weekend' nonsense had put Anemone in a strange mood, alternating between melencholy and spiteful. She had grabbed a poetry book from the shelves as a distraction, in a legitimate attempt to broaden her literary horizons. They were probably going to study it sometime in class, and she didn't want to feel like an idiot for not knowing any poems.

And voices are / In the wind’s singing / More distant and more solemn / Than a fading star.

Anemone tossed the book across the room with a snarl and stomped off in search of a decent comic book. Poetry was stupid.

The Fandom High Library was open, but beware of flung books.

"Yeah, but it might have been in another section," Ichigo smirked as he added the book he'd been browsing through to his stack.

Romeo stood on tiptoes to snag a book with a pretty cover. "Then I revise myself: Anything that will help us in our project?" Though he could see Ichigo had a few books, really.

"These should do," he held them up. "And there was one that looked awesome, but I don't know French."

"I do," Romeo said casually. "I spent some time in France. Though I might not be much for the actual science parts."

"That's good to know... It looked like some kind of inventory on anything medieval," Ichigo backtracked down the shelves to find the book. "They have sketches of clothes and weapons in it and even city walls."

Romeo took the book from Ichigo's hands. "I can read most of this," he announced. "It's just pictures and descriptions, mostly, but it would give us some idea what it should look like once it's done."

He snagged one last book and headed for a table.

"Cool," he followed Romeo and dumped the books on the table with a thump, grateful to have them out of his hands. He stretched his arms for a moment before he took a seat. "I seriously can't decide if it's insane or awesome that we get to build a siege weapon."

"I'm just glad it's something we can build," Romeo countered. "Most of the class is far over my head."

"Though," he added, with a slight smile, "the final battle will be interesting."

"It's physics, I think there's a law where half of it needs to be gibberish if you're a normal guy," Ichigo remarked. "But yeah, should be cool. We should probably try and find something that's quick to reload."

"For the catapult design?" Romeo asked, flipping through pages of pictures. He could look at pictures all day. "The design of this looks simple enough."

Ichigo leaned forward to look at the picture and nodded. "Looks it anyway. Sure, that can work."

Romeo nodded and roughly sketched the design in his notebook, then looked in another text for some dimensions. After working for a while, he closed his eyes and leaned back in his chair. "I think I'll have catapults in my dreams tonight."

Ichigo snorted. "Same, but I'm rooting for dreaming how we'll catapult Katina into the ocean."

"Katina the blond girl?" Romeo asked. "Why, what's she done?"

"She get on my nerves," Ichigo said. "She's rude and..." He shrugged. "Whatever. Just annoying."

"I think I've only seen her because I smoke," Romeo admitted. "She's not been unpleasant, but I can't say I know her."

And, because the intersection of Ichigo and annoying lead Romeo's brain to certain other blondes ... "How is Ino?"

That wasn't a panicked look crossing his face, really. "Um... Good, I guess? I haven't seen her since the weekend. Why?"

Romeo shook his head. "I hadn't seen her since last week, nothing to worry about." A beat. "Is she talking to you yet? She said at the dance that you weren't, and I was curious how that worked."

"Well she talked on Sunday and then pretended that she hadn't," he shrugged. "It's a challenge. She claims she can out silence me." Okay, when he said it out loud, it sounded somewhat weird and non-sense making.

No, it wasn't much with the sense-making. "If she already talked, didn't she lose the wager?"

"It's Ino, she's insisting it doesn't count while she thinks it does count when I talked because of Fandom weirdness," he explained, wrinkling his nose and giving Romeo a 'see why I have a headache' look.

Romeo returned the look. "So, you've both lost, but neither of you will admit it," he summarized, shaking his head.
