StuCo elections, School Lobby, Monday morning

In lieu of Nathan's usual office hours, he instead made sure that everything was set up for the Student Council Elections. Like any proper election, he set up a boundary so that there was a safe zone for voting, and a place where last minute campaigning could happen. There was also a table with flyers in case anyone wanted to read their candidates' positions.

He also posted the rules:

ELECTION RULES:

1. You may only vote within your class
2. Freshmen vote for one candidate, all others vote for two
3. No campaigning by the voting box

Nathan debated adding something about requiring voters to bring him coffee, but he did actually believe in fair elections.

All that was left was one other sign:

VOTE NOW!

[ooc: OCD is up! OOCly the elections will close at 9am Eastern, tomorrow (Sept 23) ICly they are only going on today, Sept 22.]

Ella was there, holding a basket of muffins and scrutinizing the students going in and out of the voting booth for anyone who might be persuadable.

Blair came over and scrutinized the muffins. "Did you make these yourself?"

Ella shook her head. "I cheated and went to Jeff's," she admitted. "I have two classes today, and I forgot to bake over the weekend."

"Probably for the best," Blair said. "It shows you support local businesses."

"And they're probably even tastier than mine would be," Ella said. "I got a nice assortment."

Her eyes were drawn to the students casting their vote. "There's so much competition in our class. Any edge helps."

"I don't suppose you saved anyone's life over the weekend?" Blair asked. "That could help."

Angela shot a smile at Ella as she came down to put her vote in.

"I didn't realise you were running," she said. Honestly, she had no idea who was running at all, but it seemed as good an opener as any.

"I didn't do a very good job at it," Ella admitted. "Here, have a muffin, at least."

"You're here," Angela pointed out helpfully. "When most sane people, are in bed still sleeping rather than campaigning. I say that gets you points."

"I hope it's enough to get people to vote for me," Ella fretted, after pausing for a genuine smile at Angela. "I had to get up for classes, but the muffins were work..."

Buying them and carrying them back from town totally counted.

"Do I have your vote?"

Lee hadn't any sort of campaigning due to unforeseen circumstances but hey, he was there today and, at least, smiling and telling people to vote for him.

Naomi was there with the last of the posters she had made for today, she didn't have any baked goods there with her but she figured she could always make something that afternoon if it would help convince people to vote for her.

Ned wasn't running but he'd promised Turtle. So, there were three pies laid out: rich chocolate pecan pie (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/emeril-lagasse/rich-chocolate-pecan-pie-recipe3/index.html), apple (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/the-cookworks/grandmas-apple-pie-recipe/index.html) and cherry (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/sweet-dreams/sugar-topped-cherry-pie-recipe/index.html).

There were little flags in each one saying 'VOTE FOR TURTLE' and a smaller note in front of the pies that read 'TAKE A PIECE' in Ned's small scrawl.

Eventually, Ender had come down from the roof. He hadn't slept since, and he was tired. Unused as he was to political campaigning (and that decision had been nothing more than a wish to be useful again, for once) he had brought nothing but himself, and he lingered for a while, observing everyone else as much as he was 'campaigning'.

Joan was milling around the lobby and wearing a sticker that said "Vote for Joan".

She really would have rather been in bed, but a certain someone had prodded her to be around in case anyone had questions for her.

Sam hadn't managed to get much done over the weekend, but he was here now, getting his name out one last time if anyone wanted to chat.

Peter had stopped by to vote. Spotting Sam, he angled his way over. "Hey."

"Hey," Sam said, giving him a soft smile in return. "I don't suppose you want to cheat and vote for me?"

"Well, I was going to use that as a bribe for other people, but I guess you can have one too," Sam said.

Toby was shirtless, but painted on his abs in glistening white and blue paint were the words Vote for Toby! He was so proud, he'd even spelled it correctly. He smiled at everyone who walked by, offering friendly greetings and a plate of brownies.

True to his poorly made posters, Teddy did have cookies from J,GoB. And was wondering if shirtlessness would have been the way to go here instead...

Maybe he could get Chad to be shirtless for him?

Harvey was there, sitting in a chair because his leg still hurt from the vicious clown attack yesterday. He had pins and grilled cheese sandwiches to share.

It was the one thing he knew how to cook.

So, Angela was fairly sure she had her choices decided by now, didn't mean she wouldn't stop to chat to the hot guy with the grilled cheese.

"You've gone an different culinary route to everyone else," she remarked. "Nice break from all the cookies and muffins."
