Maybe he needed to go poke at one of those things, just to make sure. It was hard not to believe what he had seen with his own two eyes and it wasn't like he never heard of a portal before.

Which made him reach for the badge dangling from his keychain. The one Ino wouldn't be able to see. Normally. Unless this was a reality like Soul Society, but then he would have Zangetsu, his blade with him so that couldn't be it.

He'd been quiet far too long, mulling this over and Ino was going to think he was crazy if he didn't reply soon. "Yes, they're impressive. Not quite what I was expecting to see today."
intraspective: (are you sure?)

She eyed him dubiously.

"What did you expect?"

"Virginia?" He did think that was rather obvious.
intraspective: (giggling)

She shrugged. "It's Fandom," she said patiently. "Don't expect anything, or you'll rip your hair out the first time you wake up after a weekend of being someone else, or having theoretical children show up. Oooooh, or wee invading animals. That's always fun."

He was just going to stare now and consider how insane either Ino was or this island was. It could go either way.

He might need a moment here.

She laughed, moving to try and pat him on the arm. "You'll get used to it."

[identity profile] first-guardian.livejournal.com 2008-07-05 01:58 pm (UTC)(link)
And patted on the arm, he was. He really needed to man up or he was never going to be considered cool.

"I will," he almost bristled, deciding he would figure out how much she was telling the truth soon enough. "So what else do I need to watch out for?"

Wait. "Theoretical children?"
intraspective: (giggling)

"Theoretical children," she giggled. "They show up sometimes? From different universes where you wind up with different people. The kids tend to stay for a weekend, or so. It's generally pretty chaotic."

Re: General Mingling (Summer 2008 - 2.0)

[identity profile] first-guardian.livejournal.com 2008-07-05 02:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"Different universes?" he repeated. He was going to roll with it for now. And then kick Urahara in the teeth. He liked that plan. "Like on a scifi show?"
intraspective: (confidence)

[personal profile] intraspective 2008-07-05 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"Maybe?" That got a shrug. "I don't watch much TV really. They're pretty rare where I come from, so I never got into the habit."

Re: General Mingling (Summer 2008 - 2.0)

[identity profile] first-guardian.livejournal.com 2008-07-05 02:42 pm (UTC)(link)
He was almost afraid to ask. "Where are you from?"
intraspective: (kunoichi)

[personal profile] intraspective 2008-07-05 02:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"Konohagakure," she said. "It's a village in the Fire Country, which is in a world a lot like Feudal Japan but with radio and TV."

Ino: really did enjoy breaking brains, yes.

[identity profile] first-guardian.livejournal.com 2008-07-05 02:51 pm (UTC)(link)
She must have been having a lot of fun then.

"A different world?" he considered pinching himself.
intraspective: (joy!)

[personal profile] intraspective 2008-07-05 02:54 pm (UTC)(link)
She totally totally was.

"Oh, definitely." She grinned. "I'm a ninja, you know."

[identity profile] first-guardian.livejournal.com 2008-07-05 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, the ninja part was the most normal thing to have come out of her mouth. "I do now. Are there a lot of ninjas here?"
intraspective: (are you REALLY sure)

[personal profile] intraspective 2008-07-05 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"More than there used to be?" she said. "Though we're not all from the same timeline, though a lot of us are from the same world." Er, yes.

[identity profile] first-guardian.livejournal.com 2008-07-05 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Could he pretend he didn't hear that? Yes, he could. Or maybe not. "So who else is here?" Really, he was just asking for a headache now.
intraspective: (huh?)

[personal profile] intraspective 2008-07-05 03:10 pm (UTC)(link)
She blinked at him. "In general, or what?"

Re: General Mingling (Summer 2008 - 2.0)

[identity profile] first-guardian.livejournal.com 2008-07-05 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"I really don't know," he admitted sheepishly. He was going to have to do a lot of damage control later. "Is there anything normal here?"
intraspective: (better than you)

[personal profile] intraspective 2008-07-05 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Um.

Ino seriously considered that.

"...the beds seem like regular beds to me, at least?"

Re: General Mingling (Summer 2008 - 2.0)

[identity profile] first-guardian.livejournal.com 2008-07-05 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
"The beds, huh?" he was just going to be amused now as it seemed easier and less tiring. "That's it?"
intraspective: (daddy's warrior)

"Well," she said dubiously. "I was going to say the town, but then I realized that, uh, the clothing store is run by a pixie and my boss at the weapon store has a metal arm. And the classes aren't anything like most regular ones apparently..."

[identity profile] first-guardian.livejournal.com 2008-07-05 03:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"Beds are good," Ichigo said quickly. The metal arm he could take in stride as well and classes were the least of his concern right now. Which just left... "Pixie. Check. Maybe you should just give me a list of all the weird things?" he suggested, going with joking for now. "Then I can keep track of it."
intraspective: (are you REALLY sure)

"Um. My brother is currently stuck as a kitten?" Ino tried, thinking of the odd. What was odd to new people? Everything? "It happens eventually to almost anyone, the turning into small animals thing. Don't let gremlins bite you, they'll make you do embarrassing things. Um... I don't think I can really list it all? One of my friends is an alien?"

...well. Michael and her were friends in some sense of the word.

The cat thing wasn't as unusual as he had found it when he first met Yoruichi. Turning into one however... And if she was from another world than an alien couldn't be so strong. Right? Not really.

"You're really going to give me a headache here, Ino."
