Could he pretend he didn't hear that? Yes, he could. Or maybe not. "So who else is here?" Really, he was just asking for a headache now.

She blinked at him. "In general, or what?"

"I really don't know," he admitted sheepishly. He was going to have to do a lot of damage control later. "Is there anything normal here?"

Um.

Ino seriously considered that.

"...the beds seem like regular beds to me, at least?"

"The beds, huh?" he was just going to be amused now as it seemed easier and less tiring. "That's it?"

"Well," she said dubiously. "I was going to say the town, but then I realized that, uh, the clothing store is run by a pixie and my boss at the weapon store has a metal arm. And the classes aren't anything like most regular ones apparently..."

"Beds are good," Ichigo said quickly. The metal arm he could take in stride as well and classes were the least of his concern right now. Which just left... "Pixie. Check. Maybe you should just give me a list of all the weird things?" he suggested, going with joking for now. "Then I can keep track of it."

"Um. My brother is currently stuck as a kitten?" Ino tried, thinking of the odd. What was odd to new people? Everything? "It happens eventually to almost anyone, the turning into small animals thing. Don't let gremlins bite you, they'll make you do embarrassing things. Um... I don't think I can really list it all? One of my friends is an alien?"

...well. Michael and her were friends in some sense of the word.

The cat thing wasn't as unusual as he had found it when he first met Yoruichi. Turning into one however... And if she was from another world than an alien couldn't be so strong. Right? Not really.

"You're really going to give me a headache here, Ino."

She laughed.

"You're totally not the first person to say something like that."

"If you do this any time there's new students around, I don't think it will be the last time either," Ichigo pointed out with some amusement.

"What's the point of being experienced at the weird if you can't, erm, enlighten the new students with your knowledge?" Innocently.

Totally innocently. Really.

"Someone did this to you and this is payback, isn't it?" Ichigo guessed.

"Maybe?" She grinned. "It's all true though. That's be best part of it. No lies needed."

"So how many people run away screaming their first day?" Ichigo wondered. He wouldn't blame them.

"Hmmm. Most people last a week or two before running for the hills?" she said. "I mean, generally, if they're going to stick 'round they make it past the first half a semester."

Heh.

"I'll last," he assured her, cockily, because he got through anything. there was a voice, far at the back of his mind right now, which was laughing and promising he wouldn't. He ignored it.

"Prove it by doing so," she challenged him. "And then I'll believe you."

"You're on," he found himself making his second deal today. This one was probably more challenging. It hardly was trying to get through Soul Society with every shinigami in the area on his heels.

Ino grinned. "I think we're going to get along just fine."

"I'll take that as a compliment. I wouldn't want a ninja trying to kick my ass," he remarked. Not that he wasn't used to getting kicked around by women.

... And now he was wondering if Tatsuki could beat a ninja. His brain needed a break.

"Totally a compliment," she informed him. "And don't you forget it. I've got a temper."

Understatement, really. Just ask anyone.

A perky one from where he was looking. "I have two younger sisters, I think I can handle it." Ichigo thought he could handle a lot. On this front, he was possibly right. If being childish and kicking someone was considered handling it.

"I never had a sibling 'til I came here," she told him. "It's a bit odd, really. But I like it."

It helped, really, that she could boss most of them 'round and they'd listen to her.

"It's okay," he allowed. It wasn't like he was going to admit out loud that he did like having younger sisters. That didn't go much with his image either. "So people take it serious then?"
