Johnny's been to a few of these now and he'd learned off the bat that going shirtless was the way to do it.

Savannah was grinning. She certainly enjoyed the view.

Johnny did not blush. "It's like... tradition."

"Heaven forbid I interfere with tradition... especially such a lovely one."

He laughed. "No, you shouldn't. But I won't let anyone touch me, just in case people want to get feely."

"I know you wouldn't, love."

"...unless someone is just curious," he teased.

She grinned. "Looky but no touchy," she teased. "Curiosity of that kind get people in trouble with this girl."

"But Savannah, sweetheart, I'm just hot like that," he grinned.

It wasn't as though Susan wasn't used to seeing bare chests -- fauns and centaurs hardly covered up, after all. But still, she hadn't precisely anticipated being met with boys going half-naked while ice floes surrounded the island.

"Are you not a bit chilly?" she asked, carefully training her eyes on the boy's face.

"Not at all," Johnny replied, addressing the girl who had spoken to him. "My body temperature can tolerate it extremely well. I'm Johnny Storm," he offered, extending his hand.

"Susan Pevensie," she said, gently placing her hand in his and curtsying slightly. "You're...fortunate, to be afforded such a gift."

Ah, a new student and one from some place far away - different era, different time - the curtsy was endearing and Johnny held her hand lightly, the need to feel gentlemanly strong. "A gift; never thought of it like that before, but I guess. Where are you from, Miss Pevensie?"

Wait. He knew that name... Pevensie.

"It's Queen Susan, actually," she corrected lightly, "though just Susan is fine, honestly. I come from a country called Narnia, and before that, England. Yourself? Somewhere that temperature doesn't matter, I imagine."

His brows shot upwards a good inch. A Queen. Huh. "Are you related to a Peter Pevensie?" he asked, then chuckled lightly. "I'm from New York actually, born and raised. I have this... thing that is different from everyone else. I deal in pyrokinetics, I guess you could say."

"My older brother," she said with a slight nod. "Pyrokinetics? How so?"

Stepping back from her, he grinned and held out his hand, lighting himself on fire.

He did enjoy this part, in only hoping that he didn't frighten her away.

"Well, this is certainly a way to be greeted upon my return," Ronan said, grinning, as he came up to Johnny. "How've you been?"

"Ronan!" Johnny exclaimed upon seeing him. "I was wondering when you were going to head back this way. It's good to see you." And he seriously meant that.

"And you," Ronan replied. "I'm just glad I was able to make it back in time for second term. I almost didn't.

"How've things been here? Did I miss much of anything exciting?"

"Yeah? How'd things go for you, while gone?"

Johnny shrugged. "It's Fandom; everything exciting happens here. One of the fun summer quirks is that the island changes its geographical location every week. Been pretty awesome so far."

"Yeah, we were in Santorini when I left," Ronan said, "and I hear we're near Antarctica now. I can't help but wonder where we're headed next."

Ronan considered the other question. "Things... went interestingly. Had a couple of close calls, but nothing really dangerous, I guess. Mostly just slogging through -- lots of repetitive work."

"I wonder too," he said, his eyes on Ronan's face.

"You'll have to tell me about it sometime, if you want."

"Sure!" Ronan said, smiling. Was it hot? He loosened an extra button. He felt hot. "There's not all that much to tell, really. Just clean-up work. The big stuff's not happening for another week or so."

"So you're leaving again?" he asked, his eyes glancing down to that button undone.
