Library [05/26]

Last week had felt really weird to Sam when he'd skipped out on his library shift, so this week he was there bright and early. If nothing else, being in the library would give him time to find places he and Dawn could check out in France.

The library was closed for lunch to everyone except the other aides and Dean.

Dean wandered in at the usual time with food. "You do realize you probably technically don't need to be here today, right?"

"I don't need to be here any time during the summer, and yet, here I am," Sam said.

"Why? I like being here, it's air conditioned and quiet...why shouldn't I keep coming here?"

"No reason," Dean said. "Aside from if this is the highlight of your week? Your life is kinda sad."

"It's not the highlight of my week. Just something I look forward too," Sam explained.

"So what is the highlight of your week then?" Dean asked.

"I don't know, it depends on the week. Usually it's when we hang out, or when I'm doing something with Dawn or Peter."

"You could be doing that instead of hanging out here then," Dean said. "I mean, if you want to set up a regular time for us to do something...."

"What do you call this?" Sam said, laughing. "You come here every week to have lunch with me, and so do Peter and Dawn. Part of the reason I come here is because I know I won't spend the whole day alone, and you'll all know exactly where to come to see me."

Sam was only around for fourth period, but he was there at the desk, reading.

"This is like a sickness with you," Peter said, as he came in with the usual coffee and donuts.

Sam rolled his eyes at Peter. "It's not like I'm sneaking in when I'm not allowed to be here."

"It's a holiday," Peter said, setting the coffee and donuts down on the counter. "We shouldn't even be having workshops, let alone working."

"You could skip class in protest. I'm sure Deadpool would understand," Sam teased, looking grateful for the coffee.

"If I start doing that for one I'll do it for all of them," Peter said. "At least the company will be nice."

Sam smiled at that, and laughed. "What, you don't think I'll skip class to protest?"

"Hey, I've skipped class before," Sam said insistently.

"No. It was during the whole angel statue thing. I skipped class when Dean and my dad and I went hunting for them." Which had been stupid and nearly gotten them killed, but that was not the point now.
