Alec was ready to mingle, and he did so shirtlessly but not actually with a cowboy hat. It was so a tradition at this point, and he was proud to continue it.

With his nametag still on and a soda in one hand, Alec wandered around, smiling cheerfully at anyone who so much as glanced in his direction.

Isabel was amused that Dean was following in the shirtless tradition. Then she noticed the barcode.

"Alec?" she asked.

Turning at the sound of his name, Alec's grin softened a little bit at the familiar voice. "Hey-- thanks for the birthday message," he said warmly.

Tyler might have been surprised to see Alec about the same as he had been when he'd left school, but the shirtlessness was no surprise.

"So you're still here," he noted, with a grin. "And I came back."

Grinning in pleased surprise, Alec looked Tyler over, taking an almost conspicuously deep breath as he nodded. "This is kind of my triumphant return too," he said. "But at least I didn't come back with a beard."

Tyler grinned and stroked the beard. "It's been eleven years for me," he said. "I have to look all dignified if I'm gonna teach."

Sam recognized that body far, far more than he wanted to, and stared more than he probably should have. The bitchface was an almost ingrained response.

Lions wouldn't miss a giraffe in a crowd of antelope, so needless to say, Alec saw Sam coming a mile away.

Maybe surprisingly, he chose to just nod in greeting, smiling somewhat wryly.

Sam was confused by the nod, but he managed to recover with only a little visible surprise.

"I can honestly say you're one of the last people I expected to see here," he said.

Well. Temari was only human and some appreciative looks were to be expected.

Even if he was so terribly cheerful about it. Like Naruto. Though, really, that image almost broke something in her brain.

Alec had no idea who Naruto was, but if he did it's hard to say if he'd be offended at the comparison or not.

Temari shook it off, nodding at him. And avoiding any more comparisons for her own sanity.

Gwen's mood perked up a bit when she caught sight of the half-naked boy.

So maybe some of the scenery wasn't that bad.

Z was casually scanning the crowds when she thought she saw a torso she recognized.

Alec was totally up for hugs from a Rikku, and even hugged back. "Hey! Nice to be missed," he said, grinning. "Did you have any naked mutinies while I was gone?"

Dawn was halfway over to say hi to Dean and ask him where his shirt had gone and why he was stealing Alec's schtick when she realized it wasn't Dean.

She took a deep breath, then walked over to greet him. "Hi."
