Criminal Justice (As Taught By A Criminal) - Period 3 - Monday 04/07

In class today there were puppies.

Well, one puppy with an odd glowy eye, a deaf wolf, and a weetiny fox.

But they were all adorable.

"Good morning kids! Today we are learning about drug sniffing dogs." A beat. "And fox."

Which was totally used by law enforcement officials, shut up.

"Now, I have hidden drugs somewhere in this room and these intrepid animals are going to show you just how incredible their sense of smell is." He looked down at them all, nodding seriously. "Go find the drugs!"

...

They all just sat there, hoping for treats. Except for Max, who started to groom her tail.

"Damn it. I knew I shoulda stolen real ones."

Yes, indeed, and Annette held hers out with the stick of gum, the other tentatively reaching to pet the wee fox on the head. "You don't look like you could find drugs. You're so tiny. But I guess you might get in those itty-bitty places that bigger dogs can't, uh?"

"Whoa!" Annette laughed and sat back on her bottom. "Licking it good. If you try to chew it, that, uh, might not be so good for you. Stick to your ribs and stuff."

"Aw, you are the cutest little thing ever," Annette said softly and reached over in an attempt to rub Max's belly, while still keeping a firm hold on the gum.

Scrunching her shoulders up, Annette rubbed more. "I could just take you home with me. Angel, my cat, might not appreciate it too much but I'm thinking she could cope."

Most likely, definitely.

Annette was glad to see the weetiny fox so content; it said much for its owner.

"If I had a toy, we could play."

Uh-oh. Annette didn't have a toy.

...

"Just a second!" Scrambling up, she grabbed a piece of paper and wadded it up into a tight little ball then came back and sat back down on the floor before the wee fox. "Okay, this is all I've got..." hopefully it wasn't stupid. She tossed the paper ball and looked at the fox, brows raised. "Fetch!"

"Yes!" Annette squeed cheerfully. "Good girl! Now bring it back..."
