Library [03/24]

Sam was on a bit of a sugar high this morning, in addition to being armed with his usual cup of coffee. Luckily, Dean was giving him space and alone time again, so only the books got to witness him being jittery as he set up for the day.

"No, really gross was the peanut butter and bacon with it," Dawn told him cheerfully and without offense. "You think he would? Honestly? Because I can make him one..."

"I want to see his face when he tries to eat it," Sam said. "I think we've been hanging out together for too long, because peanut butter and bacon on its own? Doesn't sound so bad."

"I'll try and let you know ahead of time." Not that she was planning revenge for telling the radio listening audience that she and Sam had a library kink or anything. "I bet it'd be even better if you added apples, on like, multigrain bread."

"Yes to the multigrain bread, no to the apples. Unless they were on the side as a separate snack," Sam said.

"I could probably handle that," she decided, though she'd put the apples inside where they belonged. "Now if I just had somewhere to bring you lunch."

"You could have lunch with me and Dean if you come here next week," Sam said.

"Think he'd want his apples on the inside or the outside?"

"On the inside, of course," Sam said with a grin.

"Sure he won't mind if I crash? I know it's like, your boy Winchester bonding time and stuff."

"He won't mind," Sam said. "You're his friend too, and it's not like lunch is the only time we ever bond."

"Well, no," she fidgeted slightly, "but that doesn't necessarily mean you want a girlfriend all up in your guy time."

"I totally want a girlfriend up in my guy time," Sam said. "Dean won't mind either, I promise."

"Then count me in with sandwiches next week," she beamed at him. "How much do I need to make? And, like, do there need to be additional foodstuffs?"

"Just make enough sandwiches for the three of us," Sam said. "Dean and I can take care of the rest."

She eyed Sam's six-foot frame, and thought of Dean. That was gonna be a whole lot of sandwiches. "Any other requests?"

"Make mine taste better than Dean's?" Sam suggested.

"How'm I supposed to do that, if I'm using the same ingredients?"

"I don't know. Put more of the weird stuff in Dean's?"

"Does this mean you don't want any olives?" Yes, she was kidding about that part.

"That would be nice?" Sam replied.

"I'll see what I can do," she promised. "So, what're you up to?"

"I was just playing The Sims again," Sam said. "Nothing too exciting, after this morning."

"Okay, first, what happened this morning? Second, The Sims?"

"Adah left her rabbit here, and she had her babies in the librarian's office," Sam said, not getting into exactly how cute the babies had been. "And The Sims is a game." He turned the computer monitor a little so she could see. "It's kind of dorky because you just try to make your neighborhood work well, and keep people from like, catching themselves on fire most of the time, but it's fun."

"There are baby bunnies here and you're just telling me now?" She asked, already looking around, then glancing back at the monitor. "Do people catch themselves on fire a lot?"
