Library [03/17]

After everything that happened last week, Sam wanted nothing more than for things to go back to being normal and quiet. He still felt a little tired, but that didn't stop him from heading to the library for his shift. If it weren't for the fact that Dean insisted on coming with him, this could have looked like any other Monday.

"Me too," she said, clinging to Sam more than a little now, using his shoulders for leverage and pouring all her fear and love for him into kissing him. "Scared me."

"It's not like you did it on purpose," she whispered, pulling away for breath and leaning her forehead against his shoulder. "I get it. Just...I thought you were gone for good."

"We weren't real big on you being lost either," she smiled briefly. "You're gonna get a lo-jack soon, at the rate you're going."

"Maybe I'll casually mention it to Principal Washburn instead," she said, only partly kidding. "I bet she'd chip all three of you. Plus Grace."

Actually, that sounded like a pretty good idea, now that she said it out loud that way, and Principal Washburn seemed like a very reasonable person who wouldn't want to lose Winchesters any more than she did. "It'd take a little work to make them inter-dimensional and impervious to magic, though."

She'd have to talk to Willow about that...

"What?" She blinked innocently up at him and squeezed his arm, hoping to distract him.

She grinned. "I can deal with that."

She gave him a squeeze. "It wasn't your fault, and don't make promises you can't keep. Just know that I'll always look for you, and that I expect you to make it back, okay?"

"And you made it back." Dawn sighed. Boy, he was stubborn. "So, yay us, and we'll keep a better eye on each other from now on, right?"

"You can probably get some alone time in the bathroom?" She suggested. "I'll be better in a week or so, I promise."

"Just a week," she agreed, raising a hand to his cheek as she kissed him back.

Dawn didn't even bother peeking, figuring that Dean would either get over it or start whistling if it got to be too much for him.

As she concentrated all her energy on kissing Sam, her fingers crept around the back of his neck and started playing with the long hair there.

She loved when Sam made noises. No idea why, but she really, really did. Dawn nipped at his lower lip, then kissed him more deeply, not caring in the least that they were in front of Dean and all the books.

Somewhere deep in her psyche, she might have admitted that that made things a little bit more dangerous, and the thought made her pull Sam closer.

The little hairs on the back of her neck were standing up as she clung to Sam, her hands sliding down until they rested on his hips. Air was about to become an issue, as was the height difference, but for just a few more seconds, she'd let herself be oblivious to everything but Sam.

Who was back. For good.
