Library [03/17]

After everything that happened last week, Sam wanted nothing more than for things to go back to being normal and quiet. He still felt a little tired, but that didn't stop him from heading to the library for his shift. If it weren't for the fact that Dean insisted on coming with him, this could have looked like any other Monday.

At this point, Dawn wasn't sure anything could, but okay. Far be it for her to squash Sam's creative genius. She nodded slowly. "I can see that, yeah."

Suddenly, her position on the desk took in a whole new dimension and she tipped her head so her hair fell forward, hopefully covering her blush. She was never going to make it out of the library at this rate. "Being interrupted would be bad. Very, very bad."

"Very bad," Sam agreed. "This would be a special experience, and nothing should ruin it."

Dawn's breathing was definitely both faster and shallower by this point and her legs tightened on Sam, trying to draw him just that little bit closer. "I'm leaving all this up to you."

God forbid she try to change anything when he was on a roll.

Sam was starting to feel warmer too, at Dawn's reaction, and at the idea that this might actually happen. "Okay," he said. "I'll take care of everything. Do you want some warning, like 'Let's do this Friday' or do you want it to be a surprise?"

"Surprise," she answered immediately. "Okay?"

"Definitely okay," Sam said. "I like surprising you."

"I'm so glad you're back." Y'know, in case she hadn't made that abundantly clear already.

"Me too," Sam said. "I can't imagine what I'd do if I got separated from you for good."

Part of her wanted him to pine away for her forever, but, well, that wasn't quite rational and was very selfish. Still, the idea of Sam loving someone else and growing old and having a family with someone else made her ache.

"So, easy. We don't let that happen."

Sam wasn't too keen on the idea of Dawn finding someone else either, but he liked to think that would go without saying.

"I like this plan," Sam said. "I'm perfectly content to stay right here, with you."

"Right here, right here?" She asked, tugging him closer, "Or right here in Fandom?"

"At the moment? Both," Sam said, laughing. "But in general, here in Fandom, in this time period."

"Yup, gonna need a lo-jack," she teased. "And maybe some double-stick tape, just in case."

"No glue, please," Sam teased. "It gets everywhere and then it's no fun to get off."

"Could be. You'd just need to be destickified afterwards." What? It was absolutely a word.

"Would that involve a hot shower with you in it?" Sam asked, sounding hopeful.

It did now. "And a bottle of goo-gone. Fun, right?"

"That sounds like fun to me," Sam teased.

"All we need now is the interdimensional, time-travel resistant sticky tape."

"Much better than a microchip," Sam said. "Seriously."

"No reason to shower if you have a microchip," she laughed, "which is obviously the whole point of this."

"One of many points, yes," Sam agreed.

"It's either that, or you learn to deal with Dean and I following you everywhere," she leaned in to kiss him lightly. "You'll probably like this answer better."

"Yeah, I'm already getting fed up with Dean following me, and I have a feeling he's not going to let up any time soon," Sam said. "I don't mind if you want to follow me around though. That's different."

"He was really messed up," she told him quietly, glancing over at Dean as she spoke. "I mean, really."

"Oooh, I could be extra-clingy girl. Because every guy wants that."
