Junior Achievers 2nd Meeting
Outside of Dr. Carter's classroom is a neatly handwritten sign which says:
Junior Achievers Meeting
All are welcome
Tonight's topics include:
Free food provided.
The door to the classroom is wide open. The teacher's desk is vacant, awaiting Dr. Carter. On the desk is an open box of brownies from Deb's Diner.
Angelus sits on top of one of the student desks with his feet resting on the chair of the desk in front of him. He leafs through a notebook, occasionally jotting things down as they occur to him. He is dressed in the same black on black ensemble that he had on earlier in the day, but the pin he wore in Study Hall is missing.
Angelus occasionally hums a cheery tune to himself, and occasionally shakes his head as though disbelieving his own inner thoughts.
[OOC ETA: For the newbies, these meetings work pretty much like Study Hall. Hop in whenever, join whatever conversation. And the refresh key is definitely your friend.]

"Dr. Carter? Don't tell me Sam's mom works here too. That's just painful."

He looks at
eeeevilReplicarter."They look alike. Aunt, maybe?"
no subject
She studies Dr. Carter, smiles.
"They do look alike. Funny how I hadn't noticed. I guess it's because they act so different. Aunt, could be. I could ask Sam."

John checks the clock.
"Is this wrapping up soon?"

She shrugs.
"You new too?"

screwing him in the common roomstudy hall. We've talked a bunch in the last few days. That duplicates thing is weird. I have this theory about alternate universes..."She shook her head. "I'm sure you don't care about that. Anyhow, I'm here because I think JA is effective. I don't agree with everything they're on about, but they'll do more about what matters to me than anyone else."

He says this with the studied lack of conviction of someone who knows they're lying.
"The future isn't written."

Then she shakes her head. "The future isn't written, no. But time travel is possible. At least where I'm from." There's a bitterness to her tone that suggests she knows firsthand.

John pales slightly.

"I think the others aren't from the future, so much as they've traveled in time."
no subject
He calms down a bit. FROM THE FUTURE doesn't mean from THAT future, JohnnieBoy. Doesn't mean from THAT future.
"Holy shitballs, 3500 years? How the hell?"
no subject
"As for how, I don't know. There's a transuniversal boundary at the town limits and 5 miles up. When I hit space, after 5 miles, I'm back in my time and space. It just is.
If you want to know more than that, we probably should get drunk so it'll make sense." She grins.

(OOC: There's still an in-progress bar thread with Phoebe that Beka's on. If he would want to come, and you want to fill it in, I'll link you. If you just want to assert that he was there, I can NPC his entrance, get him a drink, and let him fade to black (FTB, since you were asking about a lexicon; it's usually used with reference to not writing out a sex scene, but can be used anytime you want to just end a conversation and assert that it happened). If he doesn't want to come, that's totally cool too.)

(Hrm. LInk me. I may not get to it for a few hours, but John'll tag along on his way to meet Carter.)
