Applied Inventiontronics, Period 4 - Week 8

His shoes had moved on their own that morning, and he wasn't so sure anymore if it had been real or just another glitch.

At any rate, Glitch was standing at the front of the class, very obviously shifting his weight from one foot to the other.

"Today, uhm, I hope you brought your designs to class. Or, well, what you have of your designs for your projects because that's what we'll be going over. I mean, I'll be going over with you."

He bit back a repeat of the last four words before he continued.

"So, if you'd all get what you have out, I'll go around--," he said with a shift and a shuffle as one of his feet almost darted out from underneath him, "I'll go around and check your progress."

There was a pause as he looked down at his notes to make sure he was finished. "Oh, and, don't forget that next week we'll be doing repairs. So, if you or someone you know has something broken, then, bring it in--," he ended abruptly with another shake as his other foot made a decent pass at kicking itself against the desk.

Glitch frowned down at his shoes before smiling nervously at the class. Today was going to be a long day.

[ooc: OCD is up! This was also in the right place the whole time I swear.]

A.J. had just about half a sketchbook filled with design sketches and notes and diagrams and little half-assed explanations and brief comments in margins that would mostly make sense to only him regarding how he intended to go about constructing the nifty little book page-turner device had had planned.

Or at least an artist behind it.

"Well," A.J. started, shifting in his seat a little, straightening, prepping himself to explain as he opened to the first sketch, "it isn't much, but I think it's kind of cool, I guess. It's this thing, see?" He flipped the page, to a similar design, minutely changed, a little different angle, still lots of notes. "That turns the pages of your book for you." The gesturing and page turning continued with almost each sentence. "You can set it up on a table, or in bed, or on a tall stand, or whatever, so that you can read and still use your hands for something else while you did it. And I wanna set up this thing, see, where you can adjust how quickly it moves with a knob or a dial or something, so that if you read faster, or if you read slower, or whatever, then you can...well, adjust it. And stuff... Not much, I know, but..."

A.J. shrugged, bit his lip a little, and glanced up toward Glitch with a hopeful look of curiosity that was rather reminiscent of a puppy. He just hoped it didn't suck too much.

"Oooh, light's a good idea," A.J. admitted, bobbing his head a bit as he wondered if the it's good! he got was just the sort of basic, standard teacher response or what. "My friend Anemone suggested a voice program for a few things, too, but I think that's a bit beyond me. A light definitely isn't. And it's all going to be gears and clockwork and thing. I don't know, I just think that'll be the most interesting, and, well, it's inspired by someone who's not used to electricity, so I wanted it to be something that wouldn't be too strange for her."

"Oh, no, I think I got it," A.J. said, bobbing his head in another nod; a slightly crooked smirk slipped out. "I've checked about the entire selection of those kind of books in the library already, so..."
