Saturday Morning, Detention--Danger Shop

Vala was grinning as they entered, then locked the door behind them. "Good morning, my minions. Welcome to a life of freedom and debauchery, at least until lunch, when you return to your normal everyday routines, which anywhere other than Fandom would be quite dull."

[ooc: OCD ~~a'comin'~~ is up. Play away! ETA: Oops. So, yeah. I forgot to mention that any tools are fully available and moddable.]

He was entirely too innocent to walk around free, that was all there was to it, she decided. "Yes, I believe that would be best."

Karal nodded and cheerfully started shaking his booty for Vala. It was enthusiastic shaking, and showed off his booty to its best advantage.

Ah, nothing like well-appointed booty in the hands of an innocent. "Do you have proof of ownership?"

Karal pretended to be shocked. "Now, what would I be doing with my arms full of someone else's booty?" he asked, actually managing to sound a little hurt. "The only booty I would ever attempt to sell would be my own."

That was a very nice touch, and one that she appreciated. "I'm just supposed to take your word that your booty is everything you say it is? Now, what kind of a merchant would I be if I didn't approve your booty personally?"

She motioned for him to put his booty on the table.

Karal did as he was told, putting his booty on the table, rearranging it to show it at its best, then looked up at Vala. "It's a very nice booty," he said earnestly. "I think it could prove very popular."

"It's not bad," she admitted, closely examining the booty with a jeweler's loupe, "but I'm not sure it's everything it could be. It seems a bit...untried."

Karal frowned, thinking, then ran a hand across it. "Are you sure? I think booty needs be examined by hand to really get a feel for it. You haven't even touched it! How can you know what you're getting if you don't handle my booty?"

"I'm sorry, what gave you the impression that this was the first time I've examined an earnest young man's booty?" She asked, hands on her hips, pretending offense. "Hands are the last thing you use! True booty must be tested against the tooth."

She took some of Karal's booty between her teeth and bit down gently.

"Forgive me. This is the first time I've ever had my booty examined," he said apologetically. "Umm, is the biting usual?"

"Only among the more discerning purveyors of booty," she told him proudly. "Don't worry, you'll learn. I'm sure there are many people who will be happy to enlighten you."

Karal wasn't so sure of that, but he nodded. "Is my booty of a high enough quality for you?"

She couldn't take it anymore, not could she answer the question without getting either fired or arrested. "Karal? How good is your Earth-slang?"

He blinked at the question in surprise. "My Earth-slang?" he repeated. "It's tolerable, I guess. It's not something I've ever given much thought to."

"There's more than one meaning to the word booty," she told him. "One unrelated to properly-gotten gains and dealing more with one's...posterior area."

Karal frowned in confusion.

And then he figured it out.

And then he re-ran the entire conversation in his head.

The blush started at his toes and travelled up his whole body while he covered his face with his hands. Oh, Sunlord. "Could the floor please open up and swallow me now?" he asked plaintively. "Please?"

"It's not a feature I programmed in," she said apologetically.

The only response Karal could manage was a squeaky noise as handle my booty flashed across his mind.

He kept his face buried in his hands.

"I thought you knew," she said, shaking her head and trying not to laugh.

And now he was peeking at her from between his fingers. "Me? You thought I'd say those things if I knew booty meant, meant..." He couldn't say it, and he went even redder.

"I admit it was a bit odd, but I thought that you had been temporarily seduced by the allure of tight black leather and a life of crime," she explained.

He made that squeaky noise again and dropped his hands, looking at her with wide eyes. "Me?"

"Stranger things have happened?"

No, they really hadn't.

"I'm sure they really haven't," he muttered, then looked at her with hopeful eyes. "May I go now?"

"Fly, be free, go, shoo, whatever," she waved him off. "Don't be a martyr."
