Sam was ~~not at all late omg~~ hoping for a quiet morning as he went in to open the library. He had a lot of research and homework he wanted to get done before the day was through.

Sam looked down and shook his head. "We still share one of the beds - we've been doing that for so long that it's weird not to. But we haven't actually...not since the demon came, no."

"Well then," Dean spread his hands. "There's your answer about why I keep bugging you about it."

"There's nothing wrong with that, you know," Sam said. "I'm not going to try to make Dawn have sex with me if she doesn't want to right now."

"Have you asked?"

"I can't ask. That would make me a pig."

Dean stared at him. "So let me get this straight. You haven't had sex because you don't know if Dawn wants to. But you won't ask her because asking what she wants makes you a pig?"

"No, just asking her if she wants to have sex makes me a pig," Sam said. "If she wanted to, she'd tell me without me needing to bug her about it."

"So basically you're putting all the responsibility for initiating things on her."

"I'm not pushing her back into something she might not be ready for," Sam said. "She's never had a problem initiating things before."

Dean facepalmed. "You ever think she might be waiting for you to make the first move?" He paused. "For once?"

"No," Sam said honestly. "Especially not if it's a move that's going to hurt her."

Dean counted to ten before answering. In Latin. "Y'know asking, 'hey do you wanna?' is not the equivalent of throwing her down and ripping her clothes off without permission."

"I don't want her to feel pressured to say yes," Sam explained. "Which she probably would if I brought it up." He sighed. "Look, Dean, it's not a big deal. We're doing just fine without screwing each other every day."

"What if I said she told me that she wanted to?" Dean asked.

"Did she honestly say that to you? Or are you just suggesting that because of how badly you want me to get laid for some reason?"

"Maybe I want Dawn to get laid and since you're not lifting, well, anything..."

"Maybe you should stick to concerning yourself with your own sex life, and stop worrying about my girlfriend," Sam replied.

"Hey, she's my friend too," Dean pointed out.

"That doesn't mean you need to think about her having sex."

Dean's mouth curled up into a smirk. "Is that possessiveness I hear in your voice?"

"Damn right, it is," Sam said. "She's my girlfriend, not yours."

"So you should be the one asking her about sex, not me," Dean pointed out. "But if that's not happening, someone's got to enlighten her that cat's got your tongue."

"I'm being a good boyfriend. I'm giving her all the space she needs until she doesn't need it anymore," Sam said, before sighing. "She was having nightmares, about what happened. I'm not going to push sex on her when she's dealing with that sort of thing."

"And if I pointed out that sex is great at getting your mind off nightmares...?"

"...I would remind you that you think sex is great for everything, but when the nightmares have to do with me, sex with me is the last thing Dawn wants."
