Library [Sunday, January 27]

With a book and a bottle of water, Lee's back in the library, leaning back in his chair and looking about as comfortable as someone can look behind the library desk.

He's not really reading the book, more skimming for something to do to pass the time.

Adah nudged him back with the heel of her palm against his forehead and a grin. "Yeah, no kidding. Another reason you're lucky."

"Not very secret anymore, are they?" Adah observed idly as her hand dropped, out of the Eel's hair and down to his shoulder. She needed to use it for support, to assist her in leaning forward that remaining distance to get a kiss.

Adah grinned a little more as she let the kiss linger, pressing just a little bit more. Part of this was, she'd admit to only herself, a slight discombobulation of balance and the fact that pulling back presented itself to be harder than she originally thought it would be. She did, however, finally managed to get her body to cooperate enough to pull back and soft, with a small, exhaled breath, comment, "Look at that. You were right. You can be interesting after all."

"It helps," Adah responded, lightly returning the smile and curling her fingers against his shoulder. It assisted her in ignoring the pain of the desk in her hip. "I have to admit, I rather like kissing you, and people do tend to find what they like more interesting..."

"Well, you could," Adah said, quietly. Her cheeks were spreading with an uncomfortably warm blush, because, despite wanting to terribly, she couldn't exactly say anything about not being fond of the idea, all things considered. It just wouldn't be fair, and even went against her own, usually self-serving brand of morality. "But, as we've mentioned, you just have so many," her exaggerated roll of her eyes, the light shaking of her head, was just as much to create a teasing front as it was to try to drain the flush in her face, "charms that it really would be best to use them a variety of different ways for different concerned parties, I'd imagine."

"Well," Adah said, attempting to square her shoulders (and doing poorly) to fight against the new rush of the burning rush of shame to her cheeks; it seemed to be holding back her voice a little, too, catching in the tightness of her throat. All that, added to the fact that her chest felt like it was going to explode from the thumping of her heart, pushing her lungs against her rib-cage in the happy fluttering that went along with hearing those words from him. It was really a lot of things at once for her, and, as she said earlier, she wasn't good at multitasking. That was the reason for the fluttering; it had to be. That and her head feeling slightly dizzy all of a sudden. "That does make the distribution easier to figure out, then, doesn't it?"

See, and kissing...kissing she knew she could do. Kissing was simple and enjoyable, and didn't require the juggling of things that left Adah having to remind herself to do things that most bodies did without even the slightest thought, like breathing, and she closed her eyes against herself, forcing herself to focus on just him, just his lips, as she kissed him back, on how doing that even seemed to make the toes on her disobedient right foot curl with delight.

Adah decided that she was just going to assume the Eel to be smart enough to figure out that the soft sound pressing into the kiss before her lips did and the complete abandonment of any tension holding her shoulders square was definitely the firm opposite of disinterest.

The small trinity of kisses to create a small, invisible triangle around the area of interest caused Adah to wrinkle her nose the moment the Eel's lips left it. She grinned, broadly, the right side slow to catch up with the left. She laughed even, lightly, although it seemed loud to her, in her ears, in the library, otherwise such a sanctuary of silence. "My hip hurts," she commented, chuckling, randomly, but it was true, digging into the desk in straining to get close. "And my neck. Damn desk..."

Despite her complaints, she didn't seem to hesitate to prolong the annoying pain a little longer as she ducked her head for another kiss.

With a small intake of breath to enjoy the fingers on her cheeks, still overly warm, and the kiss that went with them, Adah's response was a bit delayed. "What we need," she said, and immediately mocked herself in her head. Yes, need, like food and air and water, clearly... "is to plan on doing this meeting up thing in places where there won't be desks between is us. Although, I will admit, this whole library thing is terribly convenient, for all it's pain."

"Funny," Adah mused lightly. "I was thinking that same thing..."

"Of course," Adah countered with a bit of stubborn deviousness, "the ironic, tragedy of fate would then make it so that, since we both want it, then neither shall have it. Do you think we could manage to fight against something like Fate?"

"When?" Adah grinned, lowering both her head and her voice as if Fate might hear their conspiring, and threatening further pain in her hip in the attempt to practically brush her forehead against his. "Where? No offense, but I don't see you as much of a morning person. I'm not either, though, but if you think you can wing it, for duty's sake, that's usually when my roommate's out of the room to take care of her horse, and then I won't have to bother with those damn stairs."
