Library [Sunday, January 27]

With a book and a bottle of water, Lee's back in the library, leaning back in his chair and looking about as comfortable as someone can look behind the library desk.

He's not really reading the book, more skimming for something to do to pass the time.

Well, it was a Sunday afternoon and Adah, it would seem had a bit of time on her hands to kill before having to get ready for her clinic shift. Now, how in the world would she possibly want to spend it? A few things came into mind; most of them, she was too lazy, but there was a rather lovely one regarding a bit of research on the behaviors of certain bacteriophages when exposed to certain elements, but she supposed a visit to the library would do.

"Hey."

Of course, she was paying more attention to trying to figure out what he was scribbling down than him specifically at the moment.

"Interesting weekend," Adah said, because she wasn't about to call it good. She was still looking, head tilted slightly, at his upside words, reading them without caring if she was allowed to or not. "Comatose patient in the clinic yesterday," she elaborated. "Doing well, good vitals, but she had just about half the population of the island visiting her." Her nose wrinkled in distaste. "It was annoying."

Adah lifted her eyes toward the Eel with a sardonic glance. "There's no trying involved. I read upside down writing very well, remember?"

"Not particularly," Adah admitted with a smirk and a light shake of her head. "But out of my options for distractions right now, they're turning out to be the most interesting."

Adah gave her head a slow, rueful sort of shake. "Not yet, no," she told him. "You'll have to try harder; words are more attractive than people."

"Written words," Adah specified, fighting back a grin as she narrowed her eyes slight at the Eel's forward lean. "Smart ass. You do talk too much. Most people do."

"And here I was thinking," Adah wrinkled her nose at that waggling finger, "that you would probably start talking and never stop no matter what. You usually do..."

"And when," Adah challenged with a grin, "is a good reason to be quiet, hm?"

"So you don't talk much in your sleep," Adah mused with a light smile, tilting her head. "That's disappointing; it lessens the chances of discovering your secrets if you did. I have to admit, though, I like your last reason. That's a good one..."

"Well, I've never noticed," Adah assured him, although she knew her exposure to that sort of thing was, in her opinion, unfortunately low. "But perhaps I should interrogate your roommate. Of course, do you have secrets that you'd risk babbling in the throes of REM? I'd hate to waste my time to discover nothing...."

Adah bit down on a corner of her mouth, against a small smirk. "I do love a good intrigue. Do I get an idea of where I can start?"
