Sam had a careful balancing act going on as he tried to hold on to the stack of books he was carrying and unlock the library at the same time.

Sam took a final sweep through the library to make sure he had everything cleaned up before he locked up.

Dawn totally came in just to check out the library aide, but he should be used to that by now. Also, she had to make sure he didn't think he was fat, because seriously.

Sam was re-organizing a few books when he spotted Dawn, and his task was immediately forgotten. "Hey," he said, going over to her. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine," she gave him a strange look, since as far as she knew, nothing had happened to her lately, "Are you?"

"You just seem concerned, that's why I asked," Sam said. "And yeah, I'm fine."

"I heard you were having-ah, self image issues? And I just wanted to say that there's absolutely one hundred percent no reason for them," she told him flat-out.

"Oh God," Sam said, burying his face in his hands. "I was temporarily crazy on Saturday, I'm sorry."

"No apologies," she ordered, "especially since I missed the whole thing and heard about it secondhand. You're really okay, though? I don't need to drag you to the clinic?"

"No, I don't need the clinic. I'm fine now, although I have so much appreciation for what you go through every month that I can hardly describe it."

Dawn grinned. It was probably only slightly evil. "So, do I have chocolate and tea and warm fluffy puppies at my disposal for next time?"

"Yes," Sam said emphatically. "And I'll tell you how beautiful and perfect you are and try to make you feel awesome."

"And not at all fat, even if I'm wearing sweatpants and eating my weight in Doritos," she nodded. Wow, finally Fandom worked in her favor.

"Exactly," Sam said. "I'm so, so glad I'm a boy."

"But, just think! When it's time for Grace to, er, get started, you'll be able to answer any questions she has."

Sam's eyes widened. "That's Zoe's job!"

"What if Zoe's busy?" God, Sam was so easy sometimes.

"Grace will have to wait until she's not busy," Sam replied easily.

Dawn made disapproving noises and shook her head. "Poor, poor Grace."

"Zoe's never busy for more than a little while. She'll be fine," Sam said. "I'm the last person who should be telling her anything about being a girl."

"Why? You were a girl once. Kinda pretty too, which I can say now that you're back and I know I really like kissing boys better than girls."

"I was a girl for a day," Sam said. "I know nothing about how females work, in case my complete inability to understand you most of the time didn't make that clear."

"It's not just you," she said, reaching out to pat his arm. "It may actually be a Dawn thing. Besides, most of the time you do okay."

"I'm glad you think so," Sam said. "That doesn't mean I'll be good at giving advice to Grace though."

"You're gonna be great with Grace, Sam. I'm sure she'll agree as soon as she learns how to."

"I still think Dean's going to be better at it than I am," he said. "And I still think it's Zoe's job to tell Grace about serious girl stuff."
