Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

The weather was thankfully behaving, so it was fairly warm outside as everything was set up for the picnic. Tables and chairs had been set up, and there was plenty of food and drinks, along with nametags, and two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and another listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

[WAIT FOR THE OCD PLEASE. OCD IS UP, HAVE AT IT. This is part one of the picnic, for specifically meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible. *g*]

Brooke looked at her roommate assignment, blinking once or twice. Despite the naming trends of kids nowadays, Michael was more than likely a boy's name. Which, okay, rooming with a boy did have its possibilities, but that also came with complications, and could she be here more than five minutes before those started popping up?

Those possible and hypothetical complications were why she refraimed from sticking her nametag directly onto her chest, but kept wearing it anyway, looking for someone who could be a Michael.

There's a Michael, right over there. He thinks the nametags are dorky, but he's wearing his anyway. Just for today.

When she spotted the nametag, Brooke headed on over to Michael, offering her hand and hoping it wasn't a super common name here. "Hi, roomie," she greeted him.

"Brooke, right? Hey."

"Hey yourself," she said. Silent type, maybe. Nothing wrong with that. "I feel like I should, you know, like, co-welcome you to Fandom. You're normal, right? And if we have a bathroom, the seat stays down, just putting it out there now."
