Sam had gotten earwormed with Christmas music on his way to the library, and he was still humming as he opened the place up and got settled at the front desk.

Dean looked affronted. "Dude, have I ever let you down before? When I wasn't in a portal?"

"No, you haven't," Sam admitted. "You always made Christmas good, even when it should have sucked."

"So don't start doubting me now," Dean said. "I think I just spoiled you last year giving you your present early."

"You spoiled me last year by getting me a present I'd always wanted," Sam replied.

Dean grinned. "Yeah, I did a pretty awesome job last year, didn't I?"

"Yeah, you do pretty good," Dean admitted with a fond smile.

"Do you think Grace is going to be able to understand what's going on on Christmas?" Sam asked.

Dean shrugged. "She'll get that it's a happy day and that people are giving her things. And then probably play with the wrapping paper and boxes instead." He smiled at Sammy. "You did your first Christmas."

"It's a good thing we didn't have any kind of cameras back then, for embarrassing picture taking," Sam said.

"Mom would've made sure there had been," Dean said softly.

"Yeah, I bet she would have," Sam replied. "She'd have a whole album to show to people like Dawn."

"There was albums from before," Dean said. "I think they got burned up in the fire."

"We can start with Grace," Sam said. "Maybe it's better that we missed out on that part of my life."

"Oh I don't know about that," Dean said. "Though you're not the only one. There's no photos of me in diapers left either."
