Library [Sunday, 11-18]

There was someone unfamiliar in the library today, making himself familiar with books he'd long thought forgotten. It was still quiet, still had that same old feeling and those same old feelings.

He missed this library.

[Yes, there was a post earlier but I couldn't resist aging him up.]

"Still like spinning in chairs?" River didn't smile, but she remembered the feeling of happiness the simple action of spinning around in a chair used to bring her.

"Should get that sorted. An office needs a spinning chair." She hadn't got an office, but at least she had a ship. "Hello, Lee."

"An advantage of running an illegal business in a system close to anarchy. Less paperwork." There was a small smile. "Got a bigger ship now than I used to at school, but I think yours is bigger."

It shouldn't have been a shock to anyone to find Hermione wandering down to the library, if no other reason than to see what had changed, and whether Special Collections had taken over at any point.

"I should hope so," she said with a quick glance over at him. "It looks the exact same!"

"And yet it's Fandom, which means the library was probably preserved in its former state for some reason," Hermione said. "Now I wonder if there's anything written on that sort of thing."

Yep. Still a nerd.

Thursday arrived and frowned when she saw someone unfamiliar in the library. It wasn't entirely unexpected since people from town were allowed up here (even if they never came), but there should have at least been an aide here. Whose day was it anyway? "Can I help you?" she asked, approaching tentatively.

She was still going to be kicking ass at 110. It was a blessing and a curse. "Of course, help yourself. If you want to take anything with you, I can check the books out for you. I'm not exactly sure where my aide got to today."

"You were an aide?" She hadn't known that the school had been around that long. In fact, she was pretty sure it hadn't. That was the first inkling that something was amiss. Maybe it was one of those strange timestream situations. Plus, he had known her name.
