Library: Friday [16.11]

Karal had slept. Sort of. Regardless, he was back at the library at sunrise.

He made himself sit down with a cup of tea while he waited for everyone to arrive.

Her efforts to find sleep last night proving futile, Adah limped again into the library in hopes that other searches would end up more successful. She looked a little rough around the edges...spending the last week in nothing but books rough, though, thankfully, not ridden with evil little parasites rough, and she had an apologetic look on her face for the others for not exactly being up to par. She was there to work, though, and that was what she was going to do.

Karal approached her slowly, a bit worried, but none of them were their best. "Adah? We think we may have a found something, but it means a trip into Special Collections."

Blinking slowly, Adah gave a short nod. She definitely felt she knew why Karal was telling her this in particular, but, with a slight straightening of her good shoulder, she knew she'd be good for it. She'd already missed yesterday, after all.

He nodded in return. If she believed she could do it, then he would accept that. "There was a survey plan found last night, of the island. There was a note on it, one that indicated that a large number of people died on the island over a short period of time, in 1707," he explained. "It's possible that the remains were never removed. If so, it's possible that the destruction of the school may have released something which caused the illness."

Adah quirked an eyebrow. Impressive. It got her mind instantly in motion on things...things that weren't probably very helpful to the end solution, but things she couldn't help anyway. Conditions that brought it from being released to settling in and taking effect, or if maybe the incubation period had been so long that they'd all caught it right from the bat and it only just now surfaced, and now that it's active, it's stronger. Mutations, infestations. And clearly, the cause was not the cure, so it wouldn't help to figure out all that, but she couldn't help it.

"I thought that we would go in once the last of us arrives. Strength in numbers, should Special Collections decide to be difficult," he said quietly, then tilted his head, looking thoughtful. They were both library aides, the closest there was to an authority at the moment. "If you are in agreement?"

Head tilting a little, Adah gave another small nod, wondering why he'd assume she wouldn't agree with that plan. True, she wasn't being as talkative as she was during the earlier days of the week, but that was just her conserving her energy for more important things.

Karal gave her a small smile in return. "Hopefully, it will not be too long."
