Sam had the biggest cup of coffee that the Perk would sell as he came to open the library. As much fun as his road trip with Dean had been, it had left him more wiped than he'd expected.

Sam started up The Sims again, and made a fourth house with Sim!Peter. He hadn't been able to find ~~emo~~ bangs of the appropriate length in the setup, but he'd come pretty close.

Meg came in around fourth period to grab the school's copy of ~~meta'd~~ Pride and Prejudice. Yes, she's read it a thousand times but a thousand and one wasn't going to hurt anything.

Dean was about to leave after sharing lunch with his brother, but paused when he saw Meg come in. "Hey," he said with a pleased smile. "Fancy running into you here."

"Hey!" she said. "I'm just grabbing a book to keep myself occupied and away from the TV when I don't have class. You visiting Sam?"

"Yeah. Vala didn't show so he had to teach Religions today and I figured he needed someone to help him stop flailing over it."

"Yikes. I could never teach a class." Meg said. "He did okay, right? He seems like he'd be a good teacher."

"Yeah, he did fine. Which I even told him after I got my big brotherly teasing in." Dean grinned. "Had to do that first of course."

"Of course." she said, smirking. "It's your right as a big brother."

"Damn straight." Dean's grin turned a little softer. "I had a good time last night."

"I did too." she said, smiling. "I like being with you."

"Me too. I like you a lot and kinda wanna spend a lot more time with you." He took a deep breath. "But there's some things you need to know first."

"What things?" she asked worriedly.

"You need to know where I'm coming from and the....ah... commitments I already have. If we are going to get more serious, I want it to be because you're okay with what I can offer," Dean said with as sincere an expression as he could manage. "You know Alec?"

Peter stopped by to see Sam for the usual fourth period Monday check-in. ~~Even though his mun would probably regret this due to limited access tonight~~

Sam didn't mind how this was becoming a regular thing, and smiled when Peter came in. ~~And clung for good measure later.~~

"So how'd the trip go?" Peter asked, by way of a greeting. "You and Dean sounded busy."

"Busy is a good way of putting it," Sam said. "We went to a haunted house, and found out it was actually haunted. So, we had to take care of that unexpectedly."

"That were the salting and burning comes in?" Peter asked.

"Yep. We had to dig up the ghost's bones, and salt and burn them. We would have done it faster if we hadn't had a squirrel interruption."

"Which is ironic," Peter pointed out. "You'd think they'd be good at digging. Though not six feet down. Do you have to do that often?"

"Yeah, it's pretty standard procedure for dealing with most ghosts and spirits," Sam replied. "Dean and I have gotten very, very good at it."

"It's not exactly a glamorous job, huh?" Peter said. There was no judgement in his words, just observation.

"Definitely not," Sam replied. "But people don't usually become hunters for the glamour."

"Why do most people become hunters?" Peter asked. "Is it like you and Dean? Personal?"

"Different kinds of personal, yeah. At least, that's how it is with the people we know," Sam said. "Some of them lost someone close to them, and some of them just saw something they couldn't explain, and instead of ignoring it, they investigated and found out the truth."
