When the Ethics class arrived in the Danger Shop, they stepped into an entirely different world.

An incredibly dry, hot one. That smelled really bad.

Anakin waved his hand around the room. "Welcome to the embodiment of gluttony," he said, "the palace of a Hutt."

He concentrated on the controls on the far side of the room, and the simulation sprung to life: dozens of beings drinking, eating, and dancing, with all activity centered around a vile slug of a beast laying on the raised dais at the front of the room.

In a place of honor on the wall was a man, face twisted in a silent scream, encased in silver. Anakin ignored it as he walked past to point at the creature on the dais. "That," he said, nose wrinkling in disgust, "is a Hutt. This particular version was named Jabba, one of the most powerful crime lords in the galaxy." A grim smile turned the corners of his mouth up. "At least until he met my children."

He shook his head. "That is neither here nor there. Today is an interactive experience for you, class. Take a good hard look around. See the effects that gluttony can have."

His eyes went flat. "Touch any of the dancing girls and you'll regret it. That's a promise."

Rose passed by Anakin's class and stared. "Old man, did you know you have a man screamin' on your wall?"

Anakin nodded. "My daughter's boyfriend," he said. "Long story."

"You, sir," Rose said, looking at the wall, "have some issues with your daughter's bloke."

"He's not nearly good enough for her," Anakin said firmly.

Not that he knew anyone who was.

"For a dad? I don't think any bloke will be," Rose said, "what's this place anyway? Prison? Tacky museum?"

Anakin nodded his head towards Jabba. "That guy's palace. He has terrible taste, doesn't he? There aren't interior design courses for crime lords."

"Evil Alien Overlords generally don't have much taste in, well, anything," Rose agreed, "Although you have to give that Vader guy props, he may have worn a clunky suit but he sure knew how to work an entrance."

"I suppose he did," Anakin agreed neutrally. "What brings you by today?" He smiled. "Not that I don't enjoy your company."

"Just passing through to prepare for my class," Rose paused and licked her teeth, "also, I wanted to thank you for teachin' me to pilot a ship again. It helped me an' a few of my friends because of it."

"I'm glad to hear it helped you," Anakin said quietly.

Then because he was, well, Anakin, he asked, "what kind of ship was it?"

Rose smirked, typical. "It was a Chula warship, actually functions more of a timeship, unfortunately when we salvaged it, it's been gatherin' dust under some rubble for more than 50 years so its more like a lumberin' high tech peace a junk."

Anakin looked intrigued. "Timeship?"

"Timeship," Rose affirmed with a nod, "Could travel through time an' space, or it used to but its broken for more an' 50 years. Least it could still fly an' cloak... sometimes."

"Let me guess," Anakin said, "it would try to fall out of the sky at the absolutely worst moment?"

"Everytime!" Rose said, "we're tryin' for stealth an' the minute, the minute our enemies are roundin' the corner *bam* cloak falls."

"They can tell when you need them to work and can get persnickety," Anakin said. "What kind of enemies?"

Rose became shifty, almost over playing the 'nothing's wrong' card. "Oh, y'know, garden variety aliens out to conquer Earth sort of thing. Nothing we can't handle. We're fine."

Anakin didn't look at all convinced. "Uh-huh."

"Yuh-huh." Rose said with a too earnest expression, "Anyway, enough about me! How about you and your cloaking mishaps! Or maybe you can tell me more about the guy on the wall. He's sure looks like he's in a lot of pain~"

"He's not that important," Anakin said, dismissing him completely. "He tried to get away with not paying the fat guy over there. Surprisingly, not giving a gangster his drug money doesn't go over well."

Rose smirked, "I bet. Number one rule, innit?" She tilted her head, "Although, if you squint, you can tell he's a handsome guy."

"Not really," Anakin said sourly.

Rose laughed, "You are so cute when you're cranky!"

"Yes, that's exactly why I do it," Anakin said dryly.

"Its the only reason why you do it." She responded with a grin. She was relieved she could stir Anakin away from the previous subject. She didn't want to deal with anything regarding the past.
