Study Hall, Monday

Kerrigan wasn't entirely sure how she kept getting roped into these things, but she entered the Study Hall room properly armed with donuts, coffee, painkillers and what appeared to be a day-old pizza.

And guns, of course. Just not particularly visible ones. It was a school environment, after all.

She sat down behind the desk, sagged, and prepared for a long and probably mostly unproductive day.

He almost wished she had lost those memories, just for a day and just because it'd amused him to meet her life that.

He didn't say that out loud though.

"Painkillers work wonders."

"I'm working," he said and tapped his notebook. "I can talk at the same time. It's called multitasking."

"Hey, I made it through your detention," Lee said a bit smugly (which was stupid but hey), "which means I can't be that stupid. I've been doing pretty frakking well in your class."

Again, dumb.

He made a face and managed to keep his mouth shut.

Of course, that didn't mean he wasn't thinking that she'd started it and frakking, stupid detentions. Mostly that she'd started it.

"Think about what?" Lee asked, playing dumb.

"Not a fan of polka dots?" Lee asked, just intent on pressing his luck. "I bet they'd look good on you."

He made one more face and dropped his head back to his work, surely not thinking that she and his father would get along nicely and how she even resembled...

He cut that thought off.
