Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Zoe was very impressed with how well the construction people had done in rebuilding the school, and the grounds had been cleared just in time for the picnic to welcome the new students and teachers. Tables and chairs had been set up, and there was plenty of food and drinks, along with nametags, and two signs, one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and another listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

[WAIT FOR THE OCD PLEASE. OCD IS UP. This is part one of the picnic, for specifically meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. Part two is happening simultaneously here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible. *g*]

Yep, same Mac. At least she knew she was getting someone sane. Always a bonus.

"I'm going to have to give up a bed, huh?" she said as she made her way over.

"I think you're moving in with me," Peter said since he'd asked Zoe about that in email. "So - we've met, right? You're not some new version of somebody who looks just like you?"

"We've met," Mac confirmed, nodding slightly. "I don't have any other me's running around, as far as I know..."

“This is just apparently what happens when I abandon my room for six weeks,” she said.

"In which case glad to have you back," Peter said. "I'm taking a fashion class this semester. I'm sure I could use the tips on how to make sure I look good."

Mac arched an eyebrow, indicating her jeans and black t-shirt. "And you expect me to be able to help you on that count?"

"That, I can probably handle," Mac agreed. "That's about as far as my fashion guru skills extend, though."

"Some would say that's more than I've got," Peter said. "But I don't know why. So how'd the hiatus treat you?"

"It was... okay, I suppose," Mac replied. "I think I needed the break away from here, just for a little while."

Mac chuckled. "Something like that," she agreed.

"Honestly... Neptune? Really not that much more sane than around here in some ways."

"Good to know," Peter said. "You don't have any powers, do you? Because if you do I'll end up copying them."

"I am but a mere mortal." Mac smiled. "I accidentally kept turning stuff into tortillas once," she added. "That was only temporary, though... and a really long three days."

"That's good," Peter said. "Especially since I don't exactly have control yet. This way we can both rest easy that I won't accidentally set the room on fire."

Mac stared for a moment. "Is that likely?" she asked cautiously.

"Not with you as a roommate," Peter assured her. "I can't copy powers unless I'm next to whoever has them."

"I really like not having any crazy powers," Mac decided. Not that she hadn't already figured that out after the tortilla incident.

"You're definitely a step up from my last roommate," Peter said, by way of agreement. "Nice guy, but he could turn into a cat. You can see how that'd worry me."

"... I think I met him," Mac said after a moment. "At graduation. He freaked out, hugged me turned into a cat and hid under a chair. Don't know many guys that do that."

"I can see how you... would not want that. Wow."
