Dinosaurs were not part of the craze in her timestream where people brought extinct animals back through cloning. Thursday, however, had dealt with dinosaurs in her time inside fiction and didn't particularly feel like trying to negotiate with sharp teeth this time. So she packed up Friday and Pickwick, locked up the house, left a note for her housemates letting them know what was going on and where she was going and headed to the library. Friday would have been out of there and off to Mrs Bradshaw's in as much time as it takes to say 'I was in a long, dark, wood-panelled corridor', but the BookWorld was dealing with its own problems right now.

Fairly certain that the dinosaurs wouldn't be able to read, Thursday closed the doors up and put a note on the front saying 'open, knock or shout first', put Friday, his toys and Pickwick down where she could see them and set about trying to find out how exactly dinosaurs had shown up overnight without a fuss and how to get them to go away again.

Rodney leaned against the wall and tried to catch his breath. "Both, really. I might as well be safe while I try to find a way to get rid of the prehistoric carnivores." He looked around at the group researching. "Do we have any idea where they even came from?"

"Apparently they appeared overnight without warning, fuss or means of transportation, which leads me to believe that this is either related to magic, the science behind the convergence of timestreams or someone touched something that they weren't supposed to. If I had to bet money on it, I'd say the latter."

"Well, I'm afraid I won't be any help with the magic or random touching side of things," Rodney was disappointed in his own lack of knowledge. "But I can look into the timestream possibility for you."

"That would be greatly appreciated. You'll probably find something of use on those shelves." She directed him to the right place. "If you need anything, I should be around, but if you can't find me ask for Thursday Next."

"Right, I'll let you know if I find anything." Rodney went to the shelves Thursday indicated and started pulling down a few books. "I'm Rodney, by the way." He sat down and opened the first volume in his stack and was quickly absorbed in it.
