Detention Saturday June 16th

When the students entered the Danger Shop, they found themselves in what looked like the a great stone hall.  Quite possibly because it was, in fact, a great stone hall.  Several fireplaces lined the room, each big enough to roast a whole cow.  At one end was a dais with a heavy wooden table upon it.  Three men and three women sat at the table.  The man in the middle wore a crown on his black hair and regarded the students with interest.

Aly lounged against the door in the other end of the hall and checked off the students as they came in.

John Crichton
Molly Hayes
Sabriel Abhorsen
Zuko

Once they were checked in, she sent them to stand before the King and hear his judgment.

As the prisoners students progress across the hall, it fills with whispering courtiers, all waiting to hear the judgment and peer at the accused. 

King Jonathan looked down at the students when they appeared in front of him.  "What is your name and why do you stand before me today."

Molly entered the maze and turned left at the first corner.

A corridor of mirrors stood in front of her. And somewhere in that corridor, there was a scrabbling sound.

Molly walked down the corridor, trying not to get disoriented by the never ending reflections.

The scrabbling sound grew louder and a strangely large rodent appeared in front or her. Or it might have been to the side of her. Somewhere in the corridor, a large rat-thing stood. And it was growling.

Molly moved forward warily. "Hello Mr. Ratty. Are you going to try and bite me? I kind of wish you wouldn't."

The rat tilted its head thoughtfully. And ran at Molly.

Rather it ran at one of Molly's reflections and banged smack into a mirror.

Molly giggled. "Awww, poor Mr. Ratty." She approached carefully, kind of hoping it had knocked itself out.

It hadn't. It was stunned though. And whimpering. Poor Rodent of Unusual Size.

Zuko was most definitely NOT thinking about anything Jonathan had said as he stomped through the maze.

If he'd been paying more attention to his surroundings and less to his stomping, Zuko might have noticed the large bat-like thing following him.

He didn't, merely looking ahead and picking a random left turn with no idea of where it was going. Maybe if he could just climb the walls...

With a raucous squawk, the large bat thing swooped down over Zuko's head.

Startled and not sure what was attacking him, Zuko rolled forward and quickly turned to face the thing, ready to toast it if necessary.

Snarling, the bat swooped over Zuko's head again, claws extended.

Stupid bat.

Pretty stupid as Zuko didn't wait to get cut and send a burst of fire at it.

With a loud squawk the bat took off flying again.

He was on fire. He didn't get very far.

Sabriel entered the maze, waited for a moment then shrugged and headed straight ahead.

The stone walls of the maze rose high above her head and the pathway actually seemed to be leading down as she continued.

Sabriel kept walking, wondering where she'd end up. She noticed that the road was starting to slope downwards. Maybe she'd end up underground?

The walls were actually getting damp by the time the pathway hit a T-intersection. Right which sloped down further or left which sloped back up.

Up or down? She pondered for a moment and went with up.

Up was a good and valid choice. She was able to progress for a while without incident until a face of stone appeared in the side of wall. "Hello."

Sabriel stopped. She hadn't seen that coming. "Hello? Um." She stared. "...Hello?"

The face smiled as she stopped. "I have not seen many down this way."
