Detention Saturday June 16th

When the students entered the Danger Shop, they found themselves in what looked like the a great stone hall.  Quite possibly because it was, in fact, a great stone hall.  Several fireplaces lined the room, each big enough to roast a whole cow.  At one end was a dais with a heavy wooden table upon it.  Three men and three women sat at the table.  The man in the middle wore a crown on his black hair and regarded the students with interest.

Aly lounged against the door in the other end of the hall and checked off the students as they came in.

Molly Hayes
Sabriel Abhorsen
Zuko

Once they were checked in, she sent them to stand before the King and hear his judgment.

As the prisoners students progress across the hall, it fills with whispering courtiers, all waiting to hear the judgment and peer at the accused.

King Jonathan looked down at the students when they appeared in front of him.  "What is your name and why do you stand before me today."

Startled and not sure what was attacking him, Zuko rolled forward and quickly turned to face the thing, ready to toast it if necessary.

Pretty stupid as Zuko didn't wait to get cut and send a burst of fire at it.

Satisfied, Zuko straightened up and he checked to make sure he didn't see any more bats before he set off again. Seriously, why a maze?

Zuko startled, but immediately fell into a defensive stance as he looked around for Earthbenders. When nothing happened, he relaxed a little. But what was the point of following a maze if the walls could move?

He looked up at the wall and then back at the road behind him, not in the mood to trace his own steps. Then looked back at the wall. It was old enough, offering several places to hold on to or use as step up.

Making up his mind, Zuko started climbing the wall.

Satisfied, Zuko made it to the top of the wall and squatted down as he surveyed the maze, looking for whatever it is he might need to go to.

Garden it was. The paths were too wide to just jump over, but with a couple of detours over dead ends, he headed for the center of the maze.

"Then neither should you," Zuko moved forward, intending to just step over him.

Zuko wrinkled his nose. "What toll?"

A tiny secret. Zuko was tempted to just set the gnome on fire, but that seemed too much. "Darkings aren't bad. Can I go now?"

"Right," Zuko said, having no clue what it meant. He headed further along the wall towards the garden.
