When the students entered the Danger Shop, they found themselves in what looked like the a great stone hall. Quite possibly because it was, in fact, a great stone hall. Several fireplaces lined the room, each big enough to roast a whole cow. At one end was a dais with a heavy wooden table upon it. Three men and three women sat at the table. The man in the middle wore a crown on his black hair and regarded the students with interest.

Aly lounged against the door in the other end of the hall and checked off the students as they came in.

Once they were checked in, she sent them to stand before the King and hear his judgment.

As the ~~prisoners~~ students progress across the hall, it fills with whispering courtiers, all waiting to hear the judgment and peer at the accused.

King Jonathan looked down at the students when they appeared in front of him. "What is your name and why do you stand before me today."

Awwwwww. Molly felt kind of sorry for it, but didn't want it to stop her from going through the maze. She tried to edge past it while it was still stunned.

The rat flopped pitifully, but it didn't make a move to stop Molly as she passed by it.

Molly sighed in relief and continued down the corridor until she found a side passage. It went right. She took it.

A weetiny boy stood in front of her. "Do you know the way out?"

Molly grinned at the little boy. "There is the way I came in, which it back that way," she pointed behind her, "but I'm trying to get through the other way. Is that what you mean?"

He nodded seriously. "Exactly backwards."

Molly looked over her shoulder. "There's a giant rat back the way I came."

"Oh yes, his name's Creepy," the boy agreed.

Molly grinned at the name. "He ran into one of the mirrors and hurt himself."

The boy laughed gleefully. "Ooops." He paused. "You didn't kill him then, did you?"

Molly shook her head. "Even though he was trying to attack me, I think, when he ran into the mirror, I got around him without having to hurt him."

"He probably just wanted to know if you had food," the boy assured her. "Or if you were food. One of the two. He gets confused."

Molly giggled. "Well, I don't have any food and I'm definitely not food, so I'm glad he didn't attack me."

"I can show you the way out," he announced. "But I have to receive a toll."

"Oh? What kind of toll?"

"Whaddya got?"

Molly hadn't brought anything extra with her to detention since she knew how they usually went.

She thought about it for a moment and then pulled off her hat. "You can have this," she said and offered it to him.

He took the hat and smelled it. "Smells like girl."

"You could wash it," Molly pointed out. "Then it wouldn't smell like me."

He considered. "Okay. I will."

The boy held out his hand. "Well, come on!"

Molly took his hand and followed along.
