"Yeah, I can see where they're a problem," she agreed. "They look so cute with their hair all floppy and the sad eyes...You want to give them whatever they ask for."
"See I can't say that. Because I've been known to occasionally employ them for my own benefit," Isabel admitted. "Mostly just to drive Cedric nuts. But still."
She wobbled her hand in the air. "He seems to be okay. But I know he still misses Jack a lot. His birthday is next week, so I think I'll cook him dinner and make him a cake."
"He's been a wonderful friend to me," Isabel said. "It's the least I can do. I suppose it's a way of saying thank you for all the times he distracted me after I came back. He let me turn his hair pink one day."
"It was," Isabel agreed. "I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I actually missed them this summer. Platypus just wasn't the same as being a Meerkat."
