Coffee and prom to do list in hand, Isabel opened the library.

The smile gave it away and Isabel bounced around the desk to hug him. "I told you you'd do it! Congratulations!"

He chuckled and hugged her back, maybe a bit tighter than he normally would. "Thank you."

"I don't think I have to ask if you're excited," she laughed, pulling away and hopping up to sit on the desk. "Does this mean you won't be sticking around for the summer?"

"Afraid not," he shook his head. "Basic Cadet Training starts in June and I was going to spend some of my free time with Veronica."

"Understandable," Isabel nodded, swinging her feet. "This place is going to be weird after you guys leave."

Cameron leaned his hip against the desk and nodded, refraining from pointing out that she was going to be leaving herself. "It's going to be weird leaving this place," he said. "I'm going to miss the invasions." He was joking, of course. Maybe.

"I know. I mean where else will you find clucking bunnies wandering around laying chocolate eggs?" she wondered. "But I get what you mean. This place is pretty special. I missed it horribly while I was gone."

"Yeah, exactly," Isabel agreed. "But if you give my your address, I'll be sure to send letters for as long as I can. And take pictures if the jellow dragons come back."

Cameron laughed. "I'll do that," he promised. "They'll be taking my cell phone, I'm afraid but letters should work. I'll try emailing people with my contact information once I've settled in. Maybe if you can find a way to communicate with your world, you'll be able to use it the other way around too?"

"Letters will be good. But sadly once I leave, that'll be it," she said, trying not to let on how depressing that was. "Unfortunately the only long range communication they had involved essentially possessing people. I won't do that."

His eyes shot up and he stared at her. "You mean as in transfer your conscience or whatever into the other person's body?"

Isabel made a face, understanding how Cam might feel about that. "For periods of time yes. That's how you get people suffering from missing time who claim to be alien abductees. Which is why I want no part of it."

"Yeah, I can get that," he nodded. "But maybe if someone were to volunteer and they'd know what was going on?"

"Maybe? But again with the I don't know enough about it to really say," she said. "It's a question I probably should have asked when I was there. But things got crazy busy fast."

"Sounds like it, yeah," he said quietly. "We'll figure something out. There's a lot of resources on this island."

"I hope so. But for now I just want to take a few weeks and enjoy the time with my friends. Before everyone scatters through time and space," Isabel said wistfully.

He glanced at her. "I think that's a pretty good idea," he said. "Making the most of prom sounds like a start. You could sink some gondolas with your most disliked teacher in."

"I like all my teachers though," she laughed. "Besides, after all the yelling I did to get the gondolas here, I'll drown anyone that sinks one."

"I will try my hardest to not sink your mighty gondolas," he promised, trying to somehow get that sentence out while remaining serious.

Laughing, he shook his head. "I don't suppose Cosmos says anything about boat rides?"

"Only that it's sort of tacky to do too much when the gondalier is standing right there," Isabel smirked.

"Yeah, somehow I can imagine I might end up having to swim back," he agreed.

"Or you'd wind up with a nice concussion from being bopped over the head with the pole," she laughed. "So keep it simple in the gondola and save the Cosmo tips for when you get back to the hotel."
