After the entertaining meeting with Wilson, Briana had finally found the building with all of the books. Entering the place, her focus was immediately drawn to the very pretty boy behind the counter.
She figured that asking him if he knew where the spell books were located would be a bad idea right now.
She leaned against the counter. "Hey, I'm curious about the area around here... Fandom. Have you heard any stories about strange artifacts or starnge stones?"
She was giving him quite the assessing gaze. Oh yes, he was definitely someone that it would be lovely to play with. Maybe Isobel would let them keep some of the pretty boys from here when they had their new power...
Sam squirmed a little under her gaze, and looked at her curiously. "Strange artifacts? In Fandom?" he asked. "I don't know of any specific stories, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if there were some. We certainly have enough strange things around here already."
She leaned her arms on the counter and smiled at him in a way that was definitely more than friendly. "It would be very helpful if I could get information about anything like that."
Briana sighed. "I don't need any bells," she said. "I wish people would quit offering me them." She licked her bottom lip. "Besides, I'm sure someone as pretty as you can make me feel much better than a bell can."
It was one thing to be randomly hit on, but Phoebe seemingly not knowing Bel was a definite sign that something was up. "I don't think I can make you feel better than your boyfriend can," he said. "What's going on?"
"Bell is not my boyfriend, Cole is," she said patiently. "Nothing is going on, though why women in this place choose to tie themselves to one man is a disgrace."
Sam wondered if maybe playing along would clue him in to what was wrong with Phoebe. "You don't think women should stick to one man? And vice versa, obviously."
"Of course not. There are so many opportunities in this time that there is no reason that any woman should have her freedoms taken away and be tied to only one man."
Sam really didn't need to know about Bel's tastiness, but he wasn't going to say anything to her about that. "So, you're trying to branch out? Explore new things?" he asked.
"And he has the stamina of a French stallion," Briana continued with the oversharing. She nodded, pleased that Sam was understanding her. "Oh yes," she purred. "New things. New people..."
"I hate to break this to you, but I have a girlfriend," Sam said, filing that stamina information away where he wouldn't have to think too seriously on it. "And I don't think she'd appreciate me...helping you broaden your horizons."
Briana frowned. "And let me guess? She's just like Phoebe with the possessiveness and the not being willing to share even after the love of her life has hurt her by sleeping with others?" She shook her head. "Gods the women here need someone to talk to them about these things."
"And let me guess, you're just the person to talk to them?" Sam replied. "Yes, my girlfriend is kind of like Phoebe, I guess. You, on the other hand, aren't. So who are you?"
Briana looked around to make sure they were alone and then she smirked. "Briana Winstridge. But the name doesn't matter." Her eyes flared pink and she pointed at him. "Freeze," she said in Latin.

She searched her memory, and nodded. This one was a friend of her host's.
"I'm doing pretty well. How about you?"
