"Not a demon," she confirmed. "Briana Winstridge, formerly of France -- where people like you burned my kind at the stake." She smiled cruelly. "Oh, Phoebe? That soft-hearted loser is still in here somewhere, but it doesn't matter because she's never going to be coming back."

"Oh? I wouldn't be too sure about that," Sam said with a smirk. "There are an awful lot of people here who are very fond of Phoebe, and they aren't going to just step aside while you take her place."

She smiled as she accessed her host's memories. "Perhaps your father should have taught her how to protect herself against possession?"

Sam all but growled at the mention of his father. "I'm sure he'll be doing so once Phoebe's back, and you're gone. If nothing else, he can find a way to get rid of you now, before you find your artifact."

"Oh, now see, we cannot have that. Isobel, Madeline and I have waited a very long time to get out of the abyss and get the artifact. There is no way I can let you or your father stop us." She pointed her index and small fingers at him. Her eyes flared pink. "Forget," she said in Latin as pinkinsh-purple light shot at him.

Sam fell silent when the light hit him, and after a moment he shook his head hard, blinking a little in apparent confusion.

"Yeah, I just had a fight with Dean yesterday and so I didn't get much sleep last night," he said, feeling very embarrassed. "I'm sorry, is there something I can help you with?"
