Yes, Sam was in the library on a Saturday. Between his classes and more personal interests, he had more than enough reading to do.

After yesterday's pronouncement, Tannim decided he should find out more about Posidon, so he headed to the library.

Sam glanced up from the slowly growing pile of books he was accumulating, and waved. "Hey."

"Hey," Tannim said. He looked at the books piled near Sam. "Looks like you had the same idea I did. Mind if I look at that one?" He pointed at a thick volume to Sam's right.

"Go right ahead. We could use all the fresh eyes we can get, I think," Sam replied, handing the book over."

"Thanks," Tannim said. He opened the book and settled down in a nearby seat to read.

Willow gave a little wave.

"Hey," Tannim said, waving back. "Party in the library, huh?"

"When disaster strikes, books are our friends," Willow said. "They're our friends at other times as well, which works out nicely. Nobody wants fair weather friends. Or, in today's case, foul weather."

"At least it's not fowl weather," Tannim said. "Feathers make me sneeze."

"An attack of chickens could be solved with corn," Willow pointed out. "Sadly that would not work for our current prediciment, though it is tempting to wonder if boiling corn in the flood water would make it pre-salted."

"I doubt we have enough corn in the school for a flood of chickens, anyway," Tannim said. "And I don't think boiling the flood water is a good idea. What if we kill something Poseidon's attached to?"

"Good point," Willow said. "Apparently he's already grumpy about that. Do you think it would help if I told him that as a rule I don't eat shellfish?"

"Do you eat other kinds of seafood?" Tannim asked.

"Therein lies the rub," Willow said. "Though maybe that wouldn't come up in conversation?"

"I think we should steer clear of any hint of eating his subjects," Tannim suggested. "Just to be safe."

"I have been learning courtly manners, though," Willow said. "So there's an advantage there, at least. And not that I wasn't already but boy do I miss my boyfriend."

Tannim blinked at the seeming non-sequitor and wondered if he was being too flirtatious. "Where's your boyfriend?" he asked.

"Home," Willow said, looking mopey. "He's off doing kingly things and hopefully not getting hurt or dying or I will so kill him when I find out. But point being he's very good at diplomacy."

"When you say 'kingly things,' is that a metaphor?" Tannim asked.

"Nope." Willow shook her head. "Actual shiny hat."

"Wow," Tannim said. "I'm guessing he's not a local."

"British," Willow agreed. "Though his country isn't. There it's more of a Ren Fair meets Medieval meets talking animals kind of a place."

"Neat," Tannim said. "Where is it? What's it called?"

"Narnia, and dimension that's not here," Willow said. She left off the part about it being located in a closet since she knew Peter got pouty when she put it like that. "It's very pretty though. I got to visit over winter break."

"Sounds like fun," Tannim said. "Last alternate dimension I went to was hell. Literally."
