Sam didn't appear to be in the best of moods as he went to open the library, even with extra coffee in his hands.

Alec went into the library, looking for Sam.

Sam turned towards the door when he heard footsteps, and tried to keep his expression neutral when he saw who had come in. "Hey."

"Hi!" Alec grinned, about a half step off from smirking or looking otherwise as though he might be ridiculing Sam. He had his hands behind his back. "So what did you do for the break?"

"Uh, I slept a lot," Sam replied slowly. "And I hung out with Dawn. Why do you ask?"

He shrugged. "For all I know you went to DisneyWorld in another universe, or DisneyLand or something," Alec explained withiout being terribly clear.

"I wouldn't go anywhere without Dean, and since he went off with you..." Sam trailed off, shrugging.

"Not even with Dawn?" Now Alec just look confused.

"Well, maybe. But probably not for as long as you guys were gone, unless she really, really wanted to."

Alec made a face at Sam. "Yeah, I'm sure she'd really be against a week long relaxing get-away with the guy she wants to bone," he said dryly. Pulling his hands out from behind his back, he flipped a black thing (http://www.mouseshoppe.com/custom/productzoom/116184683L.jpg) at Sam. "Anyway, there."

Sam caught the cap as Alec threw it, and gave him a genuinely surprised look. "What's this?"

"What does it look like?" Alec smirked. "And I got the biggest size, so it should fit over all that stupid hair you've got."

"You...you got me a souvenir?" Sam asked, still staring a little in disbelief.

"I hear it's traditional," Alec said slowly.

"Well, yeah, I guess it is," Sam replied, casually fingering the inside of the cap to check for anything sharp. "But most people usually just get things for their family and friends."

Alec shrugged. "So you get one, big deal."

"Well, thanks," Sam said awkwardly. "I never got a set of the ears when Dean and I went to Disney World."

"Betcha didn't get to fight Imps, either," Alec said, grinning.

"No, our trip was thankfully imp-free," Sam said, laughing. "I'm sorry you guys had to deal with something like that."
