Crossposted because it's that important.
If you are not in the list that I posted a few days ago, have not been approved for posting at
There have been several instances of people who do not belong to this game reported to me. Unless and until enrollment is opened again and your character is personally approved by
This may eventually change but, as of right now, it's just the two of us... and I know damn well she hasn't approved anyone except our new webmaster in quite some time.
If this persists, everyone here should have these people friended and we will allow 'friends only' posts until the intruders desist.
Please be polite, but inform non-members that they cannot play here without first waiting for open enrollment and then being approved directly by
Thank you.

Regardless, I don't think that a handful of comments in an individual player's journal from non-fandomhigh people RUINS THE EXPERIENCE LIEK WHOA, omg.
*shrugs*
no subject
It doesn't 'ruin the experience', but it gets confusing - particularly for players not having clue as to what is going on.
That and this is a closed RP. Not a player? Can't play.
no subject
Also, many characters are here but don't play as often as other characters, which is an issue, whereas the SFChannel peeps are very involved in this RPG. Very involved. OMG involved. *sobs tears of great emo, omg*

I'm gonna go freakin' insane this weekend. So. Nuts.
But next week is going to be good for Janet. She's got plans, sort of, to get together with other characters. Well, loose plans. Sort of like, "If I post this, I've arranged that a couple of people will play. If they're available."

Plus, RC is so totally crushing on Janet. *flails*(no subject)

Combined with the fact that I'm not up on all the SciFi shows and that you guys have been INSANELY ACTIVE (not a bad thing!), I haven't been able to keep track of who the characters are, let alone what they're doing.
But this doesn't bother me. I accept that I can't follow everything in this game, much as I'd like to. And I don't feel like people have been *deliberately* shunning other characters, I just think it's been a case of the game being very big.
So, yeah, I think more mixer-type events are helpful, as is "dating" outside your clique (like Lee - dude, he'd better treat Veronica right, or Logan's going to have to kick some ass. Not that he cares or anything.)
Logan should have another party soon. (Also, there are two rooms available in his house if anyone's interested in moving in there.)

Personally, I'll interact with whoever is online when I am. But I'm lucky in that Veronica is a fairly strong character.
It is hard to keep up with everything, but the whole point of this game was to have fandoms collide and when you have 600+ comment threads with six characters all from the same fandom - it kind of defeats the purpose.
no subject
This is definitely an issue -- I'm familiar with all these characters, and I can pretty much follow along with everything, but I don't have time to keep up with everything and the outside-character stuff really confused the hell out of me yesterday. I can only imagine how it must be to those who have no idea about the BSG 'verse, etc.
Plus I worry that we're getting, well, a little too inside-joke/plot oriented. The SciFi characters are wrapped up in their own plotlines to the point that any characters who are outside those fandoms (and the muns who may not be familiar with them) are probably pretty lost, and it may be driving them away. To be perfectly honest, that's what's taking the fun out of it for me; I joined because of the fandom diversity, and the opportunity to interact with characters from totally different 'verses and see what kind of cracked-out culture clash there could be.
(To those of you behind the Skiffy characters: it's not that I don't love you, because I totally do, but I kind of want to branch out a little with Anders, and with Archie as well. I love that Archie is hanging out with these guys because he's so out of place, culturally and chronologically, but I haven't been playing that up as much as I wanted to.)
As for opportunities for people to meet up and communicate -- well, there's study hall, classes, and the common rooms, not to mention the joints in town, but I don't think we've been taking advantage of those as much as we could have.

The trouble is that the admin of this game and the rules are still being set up and we can't to everything at once. This wouldn't be so much of an issue if so many of the teachers (who were supposed to be our pool of mods) hadn't disappeared.
We're working on it, I promise.
no subject
I love the concept of this game, I love some of the players, and for the most part, I love the admins, but I'm really starting to hate the lack of creative freedom allowed.
I'm honestly not surprised at the number of people who have left.
no subject
If you're not happy, feel free to leave.
The administration is responding to comments BY THE PLAYERS... putting in rules and filters as requested BY THE PLAYERS.
I'm sorry if you're in a minority here, but if you have constructive suggestions, please feel free to make them. This game is far, far more permissive than any other I've played in or run and, frankly, we've responded as quickly as possible to player complaints and suggestions across the board.
We're not running a boot camp here, nor are we pretending to. We are establishing rules as problems arise, yes, but mostly because they are being ASKED for. By players. You can't make everyone happy, but we're settling for the majority. Both admins have voicemail and suggestions, as has been frequently and publicly stated, are welcome.
As far as I know, you've never made a single positive suggestion for change to either admin... and thus complaining in this thread about how your comments have been blacklisted isn't likely to get you anywhere.
no subject
And I've made positive comments the admins agreed with. Hell, I'll go find the posts if you want. The problem is I've also made several that seem to have been wholey ignored. Admittedly, the threads get full and complicated, and I can't expect anyone to read and reply to everything, but I'd like to know what I have to say has a chance of being considered. I'm not getting that feeling anymore. I don't have personal hostility towards anyone here, honest to god, I just feel like there are more and more rules and less and less actually *happening.*
And I know I'm not the only one. Everyone else has just been doing their grumbling on personal journals. I'm not asking for special consideration, or trying to control other peoples' playing, I just want to be able to discuss some of this stuff before it gets thrown at us as if out of nowhere. I really don't think that's too much to ask.
I like knowing where I stand. At this point? I am occasionally honestly afraid to reply in the way I feel my character would, because every time I turn around, there's a new restriction. I've fallen into a bad habit of only replying to my classes because at least there I know the rules and repercussions.
Like I said, I want to have fun here. I don't want to have to bail on it after only two weeks, but when I'm spending more time worrying about the rules than I do actually getting to play, that gets hard.
no subject
I have never felt afraid to respond in character. Then again, I'm not getting a whole lot of play time in because a lot of the playing being done is in large involved plots that I don't feel welcome trying to even hang on the fringes of.
It gets confusing since all players bring their own expectations to the game. In this thread alone so far there's been the declaration that this really isn't a high school and so things should be looser than for a high school and in just a few comments down someone else says it's like a high school and certain high school elements (ie cliques) should be expected.
*shrug* Whatever. It was said it's hard to respond to everything and I agree it is. But when I comment to someone and someone else does as well and the second person is known to the commentee so I get ignored in favor of the 'known' commentor...doesn't really give me much reason to try.
I'm not sure what all these rules are that people keep complaining about. Could be that they just don't affect my character being who he is. Most of it seems to me to just be common sense anyway. That's my take at any rate.
I'd rather see a tight hand trying to keep some semblance of control than to have this turn into a free-for-all which is fun for a handful of people and not very fun for the rest of us because toes and other body parts get trampled. I didn't join a game for total anarchy. A certain amount of controlled chaos is expected, yes. And should be encouraged. Not unchecked chaos.

I get masses of player commentary, concerns, complaints and feedback and, thus far, have acted and reacted to every direct communication as quickly as I possibly can.
The only real restrictions on character actions and reactions that I can remember off the top of my head are:
1. Don't attack anyone unless you want to get detention and a trip to the principal.
2. Don't carry a weapon on school grounds unless you're in the fencing salle/firing range.
3. Don't kill anyone.
4. Attend classes as required.
There aren't any rules regulating sex, drinking, partying or even beating each other up (as long as you don't mind detention).
This RPG has fewer rules than any of the others I play in - by a long, long shot. I'm sorry if it seems terribly restrictive, but there are currently only so many hands to set to any given task and it is a brand new RPG. We're not even done setting up yet and people are already registering so many comments and complaints that I can't keep up with the threads, much less do any real playing myself.
Once everything is finally in order, I think things will go far more smoothly.
