Revolutions: Week 4 Period 5

Anyone coming into class today will find that someone had gotten there early. That particular someone also barricaded off the majority of the classroom with a pile of desk and chairs.

That particular someone was also standing on top of the barricade with his trenchcoat billowing dramatically. (Actually it was just two dupes standing behind Jamie flapping the end of his trenchcoat)

"Makers of mischief and revolution!" Jamie called out to his fellow students. "Last weeks class was a sham! The monarchy was not the true power in this classroom!"

(Several dramatic gasps were heard. Again from the dupes)

"I know! I know!" Jamie said waving his hands. "I was shocked too! The real dictator? The one taking our rights away? The one who assigns us homework?"

Jamie put a mock serious look and pointed dramatically at another certain someone. "She's right there. Alianne of Pirate's Swoop and the Copper Isles! Join me my brothers! Help me overthrow her from her position and demand the rights and privleges that we so deserve!"

[ooc: Wait for OCD is up! Class hijacked with permission!]

Zuko headed for the barricade, but he didn't look much like he was planning to join in. "Get off that thing before I set it on fire," he growled at Jamie.

"You're a student. You don't have any rights," Zuko growled, reaching for a chair to start tearing down the barricade.

Zuko fell into his fighting stance, wondering how a pie was going to outmatch fire. "You are wasting my time and our teacher's. Now show some respect."

"By undermining the teacher who has done nothing but good for you? What are you rebelling against exactly? That she isn't as dimwitted as you are?" Zuko accused.

"She's a teacher here and the only monarchy that she undermined is one you were never involved in," Zuko replied, clearly misunderstanding. "You're just making a fool of yourself so you can be lazy."

"Zuko, we're just having fun," Marie said, attempting to diffuse any bad situations before they got out of hand.

"This is fun?" Zuko asked, clearly not agreeing.

"Yes, we're just applying the knowledge we're learning in class to a practical situation," Marie said. "No one's looking to hurt anyone."

"Staging a revolution is not fun," Zuko really wasn't on the same wave here. "It should never be applied, especially not to a teacher who has done nothing but good to you. It is disprectful."

"Whoa, cranky," Alec noted from where he was perched on the barricade.

Zuko ignored the non-bender. As long as he didn't get in his way, he was of no consequences to him.

Seely waved to Zuko. "Zuko, man, hasn't anyone ever told you you get more flies with honey than vinegar. You're gonna lose our side supporters you keep threatening people like that."

"This isn't some popularity test," Zuko shot back.

"Except for the part where it totally is," Seely replied. "You miss the 'popular' part of popular revolution?"

"This isn't a revolution!" Zuko argued, glaring at Seely.

"Jamie seems to think it is," Seely pointed out. "And his side has pie, so people are going to agree with him, unless you have something else to offer. Not fireballs."

Re: Puppets of the Aly Regime!

[identity profile] thebluespirit.livejournal.com 2007-01-31 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
"What's wrong with fireballs?" Zuko asked, crossing his arms. "Their pies and barricade won't last very long if I set it on fire."

Re: Puppets of the Aly Regime!

[identity profile] socksofcool.livejournal.com 2007-01-31 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Nothing," Seely replied. "Except for the whole part where why using them you make Jamie's lies about Aly being an evil oppressor into the truth, and cause more people to join Jamie's side. After all, if today you burn Jamie's pie, tomorrow you might burn their pie."

"Letting them get away with idiocy is hardly productive," Zuko argued. He really wanted to burn that pie.

"We don't have to let them get away with it," Seely replied. "After all, the best way to destroy a revolution isn't actually to destroy it. It's to subvert it."
