fandomhigh | Revolutions: Week 4 Period 5

Anyone coming into class today will find that someone had gotten there early. That particular someone also barricaded off the majority of the classroom with a pile of desk and chairs.

That particular someone was also standing on top of the barricade with his trenchcoat billowing dramatically. (Actually it was just two dupes standing behind Jamie flapping the end of his trenchcoat)

"Makers of mischief and revolution!" Jamie called out to his fellow students. "Last weeks class was a sham! The monarchy was not the true power in this classroom!"

(Several dramatic gasps were heard. Again from the dupes)

"I know! I know!" Jamie said waving his hands. "I was shocked too! The real dictator? The one taking our rights away? The one who assigns us homework?"

Jamie put a mock serious look and pointed dramatically at another certain someone. "She's right there. Alianne of Pirate's Swoop and the Copper Isles! Join me my brothers! Help me overthrow her from her position and demand the rights and privleges that we so deserve!"

"You're a student. You don't have any rights," Zuko growled, reaching for a chair to start tearing down the barricade.

"Sure I do. For instance I have the right to protest and free speech. Freedom of religion. Freedom... to arm myself."

On the last comment Jamie appears to be hefting a large banana cream pie.

"Now step away from the barricade. We're not doing any harm."

Zuko fell into his fighting stance, wondering how a pie was going to outmatch fire. "You are wasting my time and our teacher's. Now show some respect."

"I am showing respect! This is a class about revolution. What better way to show respect than actually having a revolution!"

"By undermining the teacher who has done nothing but good for you? What are you rebelling against exactly? That she isn't as dimwitted as you are?" Zuko accused.

"No reason for name calling. She set up a puppet regime where she's in power," Jamie pointed out. "She's undermining the monarchy with her abuse of power. Plus we can eat all the pie we want."

"She's a teacher here and the only monarchy that she undermined is one you were never involved in," Zuko replied, clearly misunderstanding. "You're just making a fool of yourself so you can be lazy."

"I got up early, bought a ton of pies, got to the classroom and built a barricade before you even got here," Jamie replied. "You call that lazy?"

"I call that idiotic," Zuko spat.

"C'mon man! You're a puppet! Don't you see the strings they've tied to you? You're being jerked around to suit the needs of the establishment. Can't you see you're being manipulated?"

"I'm not anyone's puppet," Zuko growled. "And I will definitely not be yours."

"C'mon man. Haven't you ever went against the establishment over something you thought was right?"

"Yes," Zuko replied angrily. "It was a mistake."

"Standing up for what's right is never a mistake," Jamie said seriously. "Even if it costs you everything."

"That's easy to say when the highest risk you take is getting a detention," Zuko shot back, Jamie's words doing nothing to help with his mood. "I did lose everything."

For some reason? This completely pissed off Jamie. "What? You think I'm just some kind of clown for you amusement? You don't think I've risked my life for what I believe in? I've died several times trying to save my friends and complete strangers. I've felt it every single time and lost my friends, mind and memory because of it. Don't talk to me about risk. I know exactly what it takes to make a difference. Do you?"

Zuko looked taken aback for a couple of seconds. Not sure what to do with that information, he apparently decided to just ignore it for now. "Then stop acting like a clown," he kicked at the barricade. "This isn't taking a risk, it isn't coming up for what is right. You're simply being insulting because you can."

"Learn to have some fun one of these days, Zuko," Jamie said turning his back on him. "On your deathbed it's the only thing that makes life worthwhile."

Zuko shook his head. Fun was definitely not on his list of priorities. "Then clearly we have very different responsibilities."
