Ethics [Monday, January 29, 5th period]

Vader swept into the room precisely on time, slamming the door hard enough to reverberate down the hallway. He dropped a box of cookies onto his desk, then pulled a box of water pistols from under his chair and put them next to the cookies.

"Today we talk about how a strict sense of right and wrong interferes in efficiency," he said, pacing the room and clearly intending to intimidate as many students as possible. "Employees who do not believe that there will be consequences for their incompetence become lazy, stupid, and easily replaceable."

Vader took the box of cookies from his desk and passed it around the room. "Each of you has a cookie," he said. "You will spend the rest of the class period using the tactics of fear, shame and guilt to get the other people in this classroom to give you their cookies." And yes, that word sounded incredibly strange coming from him. "You may not use any cookies you might have brought with you into this class. Whoever has the most cookies at the end of the class will get to keep them."

He crossed his arms over his chest. "Are these tactics unethical? Does it matter if you get what you want?"

Whether you resort to water-related violence is entirely up to you.

Kaoru took a cookie and looked at it carefully. It didn't really look all that appetizing...so why would he want more than one? Maybe Hikaru would want them if he got more than one. He took a water pistol and put it in his pocket so that the handle stuck out. Maybe he could get away with the most water pistols instead of cookies..

Valentine took the cookie and the water gun and proceeded to stare at both.

Perhaps now was a bad time for him to decide to give sitting properly in his desk a shot.

Also, he was hungry, and wasn't sure how long his cookie would survive.

Walter had a water pistol and a cookie. His cookie was tucked inside his waistcoat in seconds and the water pistol was in his hand. To his mind, it was just as effective if he destroyed other people's cookies with the water pistol as if he actually got them to hand them over. What mattered was that he had the most, not that he had a lot.

Jake grabbed a cookie and a water pistol for defense. He eyed the cookie. This exercise would have been much more realistic using coffee, he decided.

Dean took a cookie and a water pistol. He already knew he wasn't going to be playing this assignment to win; he much preferred charming people to bullying them out of things.

But he wasn't going to be bullied either so he was fully prepared to defend his cookie, silly as it was.

He glanced over at his brother; he'd probably end up defending Sammy's cookie(s) too if need be.
