Fandom High Holiday Pageant 2006, Friday afternoon, The Auditorium

Once everyone was seated, The Tick walked out onto the stage wearing a keen tux. He was ready to celebrate the holidays in style.

"Welcome, chums, to the 2006 Fandom High Holiday Pageant! This year, we're looking to make the pageant as broad as possible, covering several different holidays with several different methods of educating us all with fun! It's Funducation, not to be confused with Funded Education!"

"On the Holiday Tree of Funducation, information is the presents, and you are the children gathered around, hoping for the Hanukkah Wii of Information, or the X-Mas-Box of Knowledge! Our volunteers are the ornaments, making sure the Tree is shiny and festive! The participating classes are the lights that illuminate with organization and color! And I," Tick said, grinning broadly, "am a jolly man in a blue suit! I am not just your Master of Ceremonies tonight, I am also your Santa of Ceremonies! So please allow me to welcome you to this year's Tree of Funducation, the Holiday Pageant!"

[OOC: Please ~~wait for and then~~ follow the OCD. There is a thread for each performance, and then a Performance and Audience sub-thread for each. Please use the subthreads. Pretty self explanatory. Everyone should know what they're doing and which thread they're doing it in, hopefully. If, for some reason, we have threads that are not pinged into as of really late Friday night, I may get creative and randomly recruit people at the last minute if it doesn't Joss them just to make sure the pageant stands as being complete.

Jaye's just kind of thrilled to not be in the pageant this year, but that doesn't mean she won't come and show her support for people by laughing at them. Though pageantry isn't really out of her blood as she sees the troll and automatically jazz handses back at him.

She takes a seat, armed with gummi bears.

As was becoming usual at these kind of events, Sam took a seat next to Jaye. Yeah, she was supposed to be onstage with the rest of the dance class, but there was no way she was going to do a salsa Sugar Plum fairy dance with injuries. "Missed you last weekend," she said conversationally.

"Yeah, I hear you got all thrown around or whatever without me," she says. "Don't you know the party isn't supposed to start until I get there?"

"I tried to explain..." Sam gave a very put-upon sigh. "The trolls just wouldn't wait."

"Impatient little bastards," Jaye says, offering her a gummi bear.

She took a green one and smushed it between her fingers. "Not so little. And there was junkyard camping. Aren't you sorry you missed it?"

"Yes. I could have taken pictures and sold them to Weekly World News," Jaye says, completely seriously.

Sam blinked. "God, you scare me sometimes, Tyler."

"You know, I hear that a lot," Jaye says, nonplussed. "So are you doing better?"

"I'm still dislocated, but at least Jack's letting me out of bed," Sam said, then added quickly, "not dirty. He was being really mother henny. Where'd you go?"

"Had to go home to make up for ditching Thanksgiving," she says. "Trust me, the trolls were more fun."

Sam winced. "Sorry to hear that."

She shrugs. "It wasn't bad, just boring. And not the good I-don't-feel-like-moving-so-I-beach-like-a-while boring. I think all the energy that should have gone into making my weekend worth doing was put into the disaster movie that rolled through Fandom. Like a yin and yang thing."

"You sound very spiritual this evening, oh wise one," Sam laughed. "So were the trolls the yin or the yang?"

She thinks about this and finally shrugs, saying, "Yin. Why not? ...What is yin, anyway?"

"Uh...either the male or female essence, but I can never remember which."

Jaye stares at her. "Wait, that's what yin and yang is?"

She could have sworn that was how Daniel had explained things, but it was possible she'd stopped paying attention halfway through. "I think so. So, those little symbols with the black and the white and the swirls? Kind of like spiritual porn."

"See, I always thought that kind of looked pornish, but I didn't realize it was like, porn."

Sam nodded sagely. "Well, now you know, and you can spread enlightenment to the masses using your power with the radio."

"Are you proposing symbolic sex ed on the radio?"

"Except for the part where the FCC breaks into my room and takes all my stuff afterwards, absolutely."

"You know, that's probably only if I say 'My good friend Sam told me I should educate the youth, so when a mommy black or white thing and a daddy black or white thing love each other very much...'"

"And you know lots of other people named Sam..."

"One, I think," she says. "Though something tells me Alec would be very happy if I blamed it all on poor Sam Winchester."
